Should we be concerned about the run game?

After two games they’re averaging 3.1 ypc. Remove Warren’s 62 yard score and it’s an abysmal 2.1ypc. For a team that wants to play bully ball those numbers aren’t encouraging.

No....The first team offense had a 62 yards run...The rest of the game,it was our backup o-line with our 3rd RB or worst.....

I'm worried about Najee Harris. I feel that Warren has better vision and a burst. No dancing, just go. Reminds me a little of Barry Foster.

The Bills were selling out to stop the run and Pickett showed he is ready for prime time.

Including it paints a picture that’s not particularly accurate. I think Warren has the only two positive runs by “starters”.

The steelers had only 3 rushing attempts, including Warren's run with their first team offense....I'm never going to jump to conclusions on just 3 rushing attempts with our first unit.Of course, some games, the running game will be less good than others, so I hope the coaching staff won't insist on running too much when the running game is struggling or it's not a good matchup for them

yes but they have less than a quarter played by the starters yet. pretty small sample size to base any of this on. 3.1 X 4= 12.4. that's a first down every 4 plays. 3.6 X 3 = 10.8 every 3 plays and moves the sticks. keeps drives alive.

The starting O unit has been on the field for 3 series, Najee has touched the ball a couple of times. There needs to be a rhythm over a period of time to get in sync, not really worried.

I read an article recently that asked the question when Warren would take over as the number one back. It was pretty much click bait so I didn't share it. It will be something interesting to keep an eye on.

Saw the same article, basically it seemed to me like ppl are butthurt about Harris standing up for his position and saying we deserve to get paid and so they are pushing the lower price tag Warren over Harris. I'll be surprised if Bell isn't cut before the last game, he underwhelmed.

I'm always concerned about the running game. It takes a mentality to prioritize it from the start and if you don't you struggle. Am I concerned after 2 preseason outings whether it indicates a trend? Not yet no.

Tomlin and Cowher both are reluctant to not always defer to the high draft pick guy. I remember in the playoffs the Bus comes back after I think pegram had performed well while the Bus was out and as soon as the Bus came back for the playoffs, first play handoff tacked for loss in backfield. Tomlin kept putting out Najee when he was not 100%. Both I think were stubborn where I could see Belicheat saying f it this guy is more explosive and playing better and you would see Warren out there. I truly hope Najee explodes this year but I just wonder after seeing so many runs into the back of OL if is his vision is as good as it needs to be. I think warren on North South runs sees the hole and goes. If its 1-2 punch so be it, but I hope Tomlin isn't too stubborn and pivots if Najee struggles.

Be interesting to watch the next preseason game. Bijon is legit. Still thinking Harris and Warren will be an effective 1-2 punch.

The 1sr team offense has scored so fast it's really hard to have a sample size on Najee and the run game as a whole. Najee has like what maybe 4 carries this preseason. I have no clue how much the starters play next Saturday, but I hope that they're in more than a Q.

Not yet I'm not worried about the run game....ask Me after week one.
Now to whom is the better RB.....
People make me laugh. Do people not know that not all the run plays are the same run plays?? It's not just run left, run right, run middle. In simplistic terms....Hell there is multiple different blocking schemes of just those simple plays.... Now go back, and watch what runs they gave each back, and what they were set up off of. LoL. I know this sounds condescending, but I swear some people just started watching football last week, and their only understanding of it comes from playing Madden.
