Hell, any reason to get Kendrick Green away from that position is a reason I will take.

 

As much as I would agree with Gronk on Mt. Washington, for him to have that level of projection means two factors;


1.) Pat is out for an extended period of time

And

2.) Darnell Washington has grown so much so that Matt Canada and Mike Tomlin simply cannot keep him off the field.



I can see Washington being that guy.... in 2024 maybe. Rookie Season?! Very doubtful.

 

Of He could be what Gronk was.....I would love that. I actually feared Gronk more than anyone on that team at times. If We were doing well against them.....all of a sudden it became the Gronk show.

One big reason I'm excited about Pickett is that he does this with all receivers. He throws it to where our guy has a chance but nobody else. Some saying he's not accurate is nonsense. He's throwing it right where he wants to most of the time to hedge against interceptions while giving our guy a chance to make plays. We have great athletes as playmakers so this is smart.

 

Xazavian Valladay in his 5 years playing in college returned a total of 2 kicks. It doesn't look like he ever played special teams. That will hurt his chances of making the team.

 

In the 1st preseason game the 1st team offense had 10 plays on their 1 drive.

Washington was in on 6 of those plays, and Pat was in on 6 of those plays. In other words, 60% of the plays the 1st team offense ran, Washington was in the starting lineup for. That is more than I was expecting

This does not go well for Gentry, if he has already lost the blocking TE role. Does Gentry even play on special teams?

Oh.... I wouldn't worry about seeing 12 personnel. Reason I stated that Washington is likely to not see that level of production is that Muth is still the lead Receiving Option between the two. This is also not accounting for the likes of George, Diontae, CA III, Allen Robinson and Najee Harris.... to name a few.

 

Sitting in the sun would suck but I'd love to be that close for practices.

 

Hell with the injuries, I'm concerned with that list of names

 

Does Washington remind anyone else of Eric Green? It’s not only the size but the somewhat lumbering style of running which covers a lot more ground than it appears to cover.

 

It doesn't look like Hakeem Butler will make the team, I have been hearing he still has a problem with the drops.

 

He will be a easy cut for this team....He was bad during the training camp

I still think they keep Gentry and go with Conner as a hybrid TE/FB/RB.

 

Still have not heard anything on Herbig, but one of the (many) steeler YT vlogs did mention how many guys from the interior line have some C experience. Not counting on that as THE back up, but one there is pro experience. That said I think Omar should have the phone ready just in case lol.

editing this after I read asked and answered this morning. It seems the C experience by those other guys is very limited, Herbig only in some preseason games and he is injured. So it comes down to Green at this time may be the only option..that is scary. I realize when building a team getting quality depth is not an easy task, but not addressing one of the most glaring needs is something that stumbles a very impressive rebuild. I get that not everyone who is out there wants to sign as a back up, but this late and seeing the amount many made last year you would think you could get them in for a reasonable deal. I'm not saying the sky is falling, but Green is that bad that indeed my focus will be on the sky if he is called on for any length of time. lol

 

Wallace (29) asks Kenny how camp has gone and Pickett says "It's been bombs away on 29, really".

 

Really a young team on the rise here. Need to really bring it on.

 

Seems like the offense has full confidence in Kenny. They know!
