I hope you don't think this behavior happens only with the Steelers.

Nope, it definitely doesn't, but I know it never used to happen with our team. We were always the model franchise, now we act like all the other losing teams out there

Send Ben to the Colts and give us Luck. (insert sarcasm) Ben is either the best in the league in a do or die situation or hes the goat. Tonight, he was the goat.

I dont understand the getting away from Heath. Its not the first time we ve have done this. Its Heath Heath Heath Heath and then nothing. Throw the dang ball to him until they double up on him.

And I m sick of Wallace just giving up. I noticed a couple of times tonight that he just stopped running his route or did it half hearted.

You NEVER hear Manning, Brady, Rodgers or Brees undermine the play calling of their coaches to the media, either explicitly or implicitly in the passive-aggressive manner Ben seems to employ.

I was hoping Todd Haley, could have made a difference with #7,
I guess it is hard to change a leopards spots. Ben seems to be unable
to read defense's and lets his athletic ability take over way too much.
This has got to change, I am not sure Todd Haley has had the impact
I was looking for. Maybe I have over estimated both Ben and Todd?

I do remember Brister telling the media things like, "We should just punt on 1st down," and "Anyone who can rush the passer, call the stadium. We need help quick." Noll benched him him.

haley has hard time , ben is not a computer qb , he always try to improvise something , sometimes is good sometimes is not .
if ben wants to run his personal offense haley is useless they have to find what is the best for the team , but the anarky tomlin is letting go doesn't help . we keep losing to crap team , dallas is horrible , sdiego was smashed out in carolina ... and we are talking about who run the offense ..

haley palycalling in the second half were questionable http://triblive.com/sports/dejankov...-74/roethlisberger-haley-miller#axzz2FGzovFVl

That's because they're not losing and when you're not losing you're not constantly being hounded by the media with 1000 questions on why you lost, what went wrong, whose fault is it, etc. I think it's funny. If he'd have blown off their questions or refused to answer then everyone would be raising hell over why he's not giving any explanation on what could be wrong with the team.

Well, I have to say that I like Haley's dink and dunk offense even if Ben doesn't. I have spent far too many Sunday afternoons watching Ben launch a ball down the field through my fingers cringing as I wait for the interception. That said, it may be irrelevant if Haley is off to the rumored head coaching position next year.

Feast or famine all around this team these days for sure.

Right on. Bruce was an easy target for the lynch mob who couldn't recognize we had average or below average talent starting on the offensive line week in and week out. It's clear by the posts on this board the last couple of weeks the mob now has their sights set on Tomlin as being the next fall guy. Tomlin could be fired tomorrow and the mob would feel good about themselves just as they did when BA was sh**t canned but unfortunately that's not going to make this collection of Steeler players win more football games. When the rash of injuries finally subsides a bit and a few of these young players get some experience and a few other players get their heads out of their asses the Steelers will start winning again and all will be better in the Black & Gold kingdom;)

Bettis is on ESPN radio saying that there is a big problem between Haley and Ben.

I honestly don't doubt that because I've also heard Ryan Clark insinuate on NFL Network that they're not exactly the best of friends. I think Ben is the one with the problem though and he needs to get over it. BAs offense had no rhyme nor reason. Haley TRIES to play situational football but when Ben is literally throwing it in to the ground, receivers are dropping wide open passes, runners are fumbling like maniacs, it SORTA makes your chances of success DRASTICALLY smaller. Ben needs to man up and do what he is told. Is Haley Ben's boss or is Ben Haley's boss? What is the chain of command in that situation?

I don't know how somebody infers that he's not happy with the play calling based on his post game interview (assuming the link posted in this thread is the entire interview). When asked directly, "Do you fell that Dallas did something differently to take Heath away in the 2nd half?" He responded, "No, I just don't think we called the right plays to get him the ball...there were a couple times we called plays..and we didn't execute." That's it. That's the only mention of play calling, and it certainly was not inflamatory, or "passive agressive" or anything else. It was a truthful answer to a direct question.
Also from the interview, when asked if he felt like he lost the game he said, "Absolutely 100% this is on me. I let the team, the fans, everybody down" and "I thought our line did a great job, a lot of guys stepped up and played well." Sounds like he said all the right things to me and was being a good teammate, lifting up his team and shouldering the loss.
And somebody mentioned that Manning would never b*tch to the media after loss...apparently they forgot his comments regarding his OL after the '05 divisional loss to the Steelers. Classy.
I get that people are frustrated after losses, esp ones that end with interceptions thrown in OT, and I get that some people just don't like the guy, but come on...

Tim Hasselbeck just said on Mike and Mike that Ben's criticism of Todd Haley was uncalled for and immature. I AGREE!

I think it is passive-aggressive behavior and there is a pattern of this with Ben.

And what I said above is that Manning (Rodgers, Brees, Brady) do not criticize and undermine the PLAYCALLING

Someone tell me who called the plays on the failed drive with 2 minutes left on the game clock. Someone tell me who was calling the plays out of the no-huddle when Ben threw the INT.

the problem is simple : ben want to run his offense , haley want to run his , they have to find an agreement to go in only one direction

Yep. As long as our QB and OC are butting heads, its not going to work.

Nope. When they're in no huddle Ben's in total control of the offense.
