Rudolph had the better game, but Mitch is still the better QB.... It's ridiculous to evaluate a QB on only 4 passes attempt.Mitch has a 31-24 record or something like that in his career, we will never win because of him but as a backup, he is good.... It's not 4 passes attempts in a preseason game that will change my mind

This discussion is a big waste of time, no team was interested in having Rudolph in the last offseason outside of the steelers

well **** man the guy is in his 87th camp, I would hope he looks good against 2nd and 3rd string players.

Not sure what you are arguing anyway, that he’s better than Trubisky or that he isn’t a bad QB? The first one is largely subjective so it would be inaccurate to say people are wrong about that. The second one is a fact, he’s a bad QB. He went through the entire free agency period without any interest and crawled back to a team you know full well he wanted to be done with. Let that sink in, no team even wanted him as a backup.

GEEZZZZ.....will people stop trying to defend Trubisky with what He has done elsewhere. What He has done elsewhere seen that team that drafted Him number 2 over all....say...bye bye....bye bye.....I get those of You that like Him, and thought He'd be good here, but don't defend him by what He did on another team.....You want to defend Him .....use what He has done since putting on the Black and Gold.....I think He is here, and not in Chicago......, but His defenders won't....why???....because He has sucked while in the Black , and Gold.

In the 3 games as backup last year,he had 2 good games(vs bucs and panthers) and bad vs ravens....Still good for a backup...If he would be a starter, this is a another story....I know that Rudolph is just awful....He has been benched for Delvin Hodges in the past :roflmao:

That's funny....now use those same words on Trubisky....didn't He play against backups???? Hasn't He been in the league for quite awhile????....nobody wanted Him.....so He let us extend him , and pay less money. We had too keep him because of the cap. We didn't have to sign Mason, but they did. I never said Mason was great, but I do want the better Qb at backup.
The funniest thing about this.....is almost to a Man the people defending Trubisky.....You can go back , and look....thought He would be good Here , and they are afraid to say they were wrong.

    Yeah that proves it. LoL
Stupid....Now do how He has done as a starter here. Since that's how Your judging Mason....and compare it to What Mason has done here as a Starter. Again wake up people. I don’t want either as our starter, but I dang sure want the better one to be the backup....., and if You compare the two(in black, and gold)....preseason, and regular season....it's not close.

Whats funny is you making false comparisons. Trubiksy didnt test free agency. If he did he’d have gotten an offer for sure.

I don’t think either one are good, I kind of get the feeling you think Rudolph is a good QB. I predicted he will follow the same path as Landry Jones, I would have been spot on if the Steelers didnt thrown him a life line. All they did was delay the inevitable.

What people thought about Trubisky was that maybe being away from Chicago and playing a year behind Allen would be a positive for him.

Nope. I want KFP, but I do want the best backup, and Trubisky is not it. Just as a Steeler compare the two, and honestly show Me what Trubisky is better at. Not wins....not tds....nothing. Not preseason, or regular season. Only one way of defending Trubisky....bring up stuff He did before He was a Steeler.

It’s not about defending Trubisky as much as recognizing Rudolph isnt an NFL caliber QB. 31 teams recognized that.

I don’t feel good about Trubisky coming in either but the backup QB market was slim pickings to bring anyone else in.

I will say though in general if you are going to evaluate a player you need to evaluate his entire career. Whether that is Trubisky or whoever, you don’t take a snippet of it. This cherry picking thing you are doing is kind of weird lol.

Neither one is any good that's why they are back ups. That said, I've seen all that i have to see with Mason, god forbid we need either, i'm taking Mitch I think he's more mobile and throws a better ball.

Otherwise we may as well cut every FA that was signed this year because none of them have ever done anything while with the Steelers

STD compare the two as Steelers as you say and last year Mitch played and Rudy did not.
There is only 1 year that can be used in the comparison.
    Plain and simple.

That is a dumb take, and I like You a lot. I never stated this before We seen Trubisky play here. Only after we seen Him play here.
So by You and others stupid take. No matter how terrible they are here....just keep them because they were kinda good somewhere else. Well then why did we let Myles Jack go????Hell He was really good in Jacksonville for awhile. LoL. See how dumb that sounds. Of course I'm going to count what they did elsewhere.....before they play here, but not after they have played here. You are a very intelligent man....,and I should not have had to explain this to you.

No compare them as Steelers. Why is this so hard??? LoL. Again example.....why did we let Myles Jack go????
He was awesome at one time in Jacksonville. Answer...., because He was not awesome here, and what He did before He played here had no difference on our scouting, or evaluation of Him once He played here. How is this hard to comprehend???

No need to argue who is 2nd or 3rd string QB. If 2nd string QB has to play because Kenny is out, we will lose most all those starts by Mitch or Mason.

Been a while since we had a backup come in for the starter and you felt like you still had a good chance to win. Last one that comes to mind is Batch.

No, it really isn't. Just like last season, Rudolph got to play against weaker competition, and that fooled people like you. He is a modern-day Babe Laufenberg. (Look him up.) And yes, I posted the same comparison on another thread.

I'm not sure if you aren't getting the point or you are just willfully ignoring it. It isn't that he didn't play better than Trubisky Friday. Sure, he needed to play against scrubs to do it, but he did have the better numbers. The point is that he demonstrated the very same weaknesses that have held him back for years. His footwork sucks and he struggles on short and intermediate sideline routes.

You are trying to dismiss what he did elsewhere to support your man crush on Rudolph, not out of some desire for objectivity. The intelligent analysis takes all available information into account rather than intentionally dismissing anything that doesn't fit your chosen narrative.

How dumb does that sound. Trubisky played against backups to backups ,and completes one pass, and You are dumb enough to stick up for that. LoL :lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

You are so brilliant. I don't know why We didn't keep Myles Jack....Hell at one time He was awesome in Jacksonville ......I mean why should something like how he played here even matter. See how stupid that sounds. The sad thing is.....You actually don't. LoL
