PFF can be a useful tool, but everything needs to be put into correct context and then be used as a part of a true evaluation of a players performance. No single metric is a stand-alone answer. It is just a piece of the puzzle that needs to be interpreted and analyzed to help find the true measure of a player's performance. Unfortunately, it is often used and relied upon as the end-all answer to a true performance standard...but it is not that.

I find it quite humorous that so many fans will not give Mason any credit. He plays well with scrubs against scrubs (not counting Calvin Austin in that group of scrubs. He needs playing time since missing all last year), all you hear is that of course he looked good, he was playing against 3rd team defense. Then if he is not making any plays against the scrubs he is knocked for looking bad against scrubs totally neglecting the fact he was playing with scrubs on his side of the ball as well. Basically, Mason is damned if does or damned if he doesn't. I do believe with the improved O-Line that Mason should be the primary backup over Mitch. Two more games we shall see.

I like both Mitch and Rudolph. I think both can play a little bit. They both have strengths and weaknesses.

I tend not to bash backup quarterbacks to hard. There's a reason they are backups. I believe in playing in an offense that suits your talents, and that learning new offensive systems and working with a ton of new talent isn't always easy. I always call it as I see it. If I believe they played well, and I will say it. If they didn't play well, I will also address that.

I agree with you about Rudolph in general. He does have footwork issues that will always give him trouble, but I don't dismiss when he plays well. He had Green as his center on some drives. It's difficult to get anything done with the way Green was playing. I thought Rudolph played well in this game.

I think you have a point about both having strengths and weaknesses. While I do believe Mason could potentially leapfrog Mitch on the depth chart, it may be a case of situational football should Pickett get injured.

Money.....money, and wasted cap is why Trubisky will at least be the backup....nothing more. Notice the changes at the OL as soon as Mason came in, and yet He still looked better.

Now just stop. In another thread folks were ragging on your Mama and now you're dragging Gramma into the fray.

I'm an English teacher. Sometimes, your atrocious grammar is just too much for me to ignore. Also, I get bored beating you so badly in these arguments, so I branch out and try to teach you something.

He faced guys even farther down the depth chart for the Bucs, but I see you have your built-in excuse ready to go when Rudolph loses yet another training camp battle.

You actually couldn't beat your way out of a wet paper bag...., and everyone knows when the 1st thing a guy does is attack someone's grammar....it's because He know He has lost, and is wrong.

It wasn't the first thing I did. We are probably hundreds of posts into this argument if you consider the many times it has started and stopped. It wasn't even the first thing I did in that post. You really need to learn to do a better job of using your words in a clear and accurate manner, regardless of your grammar.

I get why you want it to be a sign of victory for you given your atrocious grammar, but you are wrong about the larger argument. You are wrong about the smaller points in the argument. You are even wrong in your claim that it was the first thing I did. It must be really tiresome for you to be wrong so often.

Feigned laziness isn't the winning move you think it is. The truth is you read it and you can't argue with any part of it, so you pull out that nonsense. I'm sorry that facts, reason, and logic seem to be such hurdles for you.

I see this has turned into another bash Tomlin thread. Thought we would get at least 5 minutes into the SF game before that happened.

Wasn't Mason behind Green at center??? That alone is enough. Trubisky sucked last year and it took a rookie to save the season. They yanked his tail out of the game bs the bucs Super fast because they know, and seen enough. They played Tannner A lot hoping to have found a gem they could keep but that didn’t work either .

Mason is better than Trubisky and THAT is scary!!! We need a better QB room !!
