Good - can’t argue with much you said. Benton and Herbig stuck out big time. ILB’s looked good. Leal and Alexander had strong nights. We look very deep at a lot of position.

bad - White had a forgettable night with a drop, and he was the main reason why Mitch had his pick. Tanner Morgan looked rough but his chances were slim anyways. RB’s behind McFarland didn’t look great… also, are we really going to see flags this year like the one on Alexander early on? Gonna be tough to swallow that in a big time situation. Hopefully they ease up a bit on that as the season progresses.

Ugly - Kendrick Green. Ugly. We know why they were giving him reps at FB…. Kid’s not an NFL Center. Also, I’m not gonna lie, Rudolph looked god awful last night outside of one throw. He put a pretty deep ball on Austin for a TD, but he really didn’t look amazing against 3rd stringers and practice squad players. He’s been in the league too long. Skipped a ball on a 12 yard out to Austin when he was wide open and again showed that he has no pocket awareness, failing to shift his feet and move to create space to throw. His deep ball is his only NFL caliber talent.

Good - they won, not because it mattered but because I wanted them too

    Bad - K Green

Ugly - Come week 1, this game meant nothing

This. They will stuff him on the practice squad to save face of the mistake they drafted. What was even worse is they gave him the #53 :lolol: Like that was going to transform him.

Khan has no vested interest in Green. After cutting Green, because he does not make the 53-man roster, I don't see Khan offering him a new contract to make the practice squad.

Khan did the same thing to CB Justin Layne last year, another Steeler 3rd round draft pick that didn't see his 4th year under Khan.

Is Canada good so far or just ugly right now?

probably too early to tell, but not being on the bad list after this game is good

Way to early to tell. As was noted, KP looked confident, relaxed and in charge, the inside running game was horrible except Jaylen had a couple of nice tries (admittedly they did not run much inside and most of the time with scrubs).

    How about the WTF?
Mitch Trubiski was 1-4 for 10 yards and in interception. His quarterback rating was 0.0. To put that in perspective, Tanner Morgan's rating was 33.3, and he was terrible.
Calvin Austin had two catches for 73 yards and a td, two carries for 23 yards, 28% of our total offense on 4 plays.
PFF gave Mitch and Calvin the same grade.

I feel they will only carry three. They have there one/two punch in Harris and Warren and McFarland will be the #3.

Conner Heyward has had carries at H Back. The kid is versatile and can make plays.

Then its Bell, Hagans and Lovett. Which will excel?

One will get signed to the practice squad.

Another nugget is that teams can carry a 3rd QB for emergency's without using a roster spot.

Trying to find info on the roster spot rules is like wading through an 18 inch deep creek with debry all over, lol. Some of the top searches were from 2020.

I know they changed the rule of the 3rd QB, while he will be on the 53, on gameday he will be allowed to dress as a part of the expanded 48 gameday roster (up from 46), but can only be used if both other QB's are out. Get that, do you know if that other spot is a designated linemen..and the same applies to him? In other words all other linemen in the 46 have to be used..and enough injured before he takes the field?? I know the linemen rule was in place for a while, but never have heard if it stayed.

I don't think it's a lack of effort or bad attitude. He just sucks at playing center. Haven't seen him play guard to know if he's even any good at that position, either. I think the experiment at FB was an attempt to salvage his career. I'll be mildly surprised if he's on the opening day roster.

Clearly, he did. You would have to watch the game to see Rudolph's flaws, like the inability to hit intermediate sideline throws and poor pocket presence. Those have been problems since day one and they showed up in Friday night's game as well. He threw a nice deep ball to Austin and made a pretty throw up the seam to Heyward, but he has always been able to make some good throws when he has protection. It helped that he was varsity playing against JV, to borrow Tomlin's phrasing from last year.

That's the thing. He has proven that he can make them for years. He has also proven that he is very inconsistent. Also, check your homonyms.
