I would move Trubisky to Bills and Dotson to Cowboys and get some picks. Is Dotson healthy haven`t heard his name much ?

1182 players young and old are going to be cut in 17 days

No one should be considering a trade now

16x32 for the practice squads, so 512 will still have jobs. Also, a small number who are cut will be told to wait, as some players will be placed on IR the day after final cuts (to keep them available for later in the year), and players will need to be re-signed to fill those positions.

Actually 512 will not have jobs

    They will have been cut

And nobody waits when given an offer elsewhere to be on a 53

It would cost us 10 million against the cap to move Mitch, and no one is going to give you anything. We know what he is, sucked in TB, today in camp had a stellar day. We are stuck with him, so stop the trade non-sense.

I doubt they're looking to trade Trubisky, unless some team is dumb enough to give up a good draft pick for him, I don't think there's a Bears trading for Claypool type of deal coming.

Nobody is going to trade for Mitch unless their QB gets hurt. Mitch extending his contract and taking less money does make him more palatable if it happens. But nobody is knocking on Omar's door right now. A guy like Dotson could definitely be someone another team, or teams, is seeking.

We aren't so deep at guard that we can afford to trade Dotson for peanuts. It would be a different story if Kendrick Green could play the position. Injuries happen and having him around is worth more than what we could get for him. Trubisky isn't going anywhere. He appears to be comfortable in the back up situation and is a solid enough option fit wise and culture wise. We have literally nothing that resembles a competent QB behind him, so we'd be betting hard on KFP staying healthy. No one is trading a high pick for him and we need him too much.

There are always some surprise cuts, we definitely shouldn't be thinking about making moves until we see who is available and what we really need.

The Steelers will have some cuts that other teams may want, but I doubt if there is any player that would bring a draft pick in a trade.

Mitch is not getting traded, it wouldn’t save anything and there is a good chance that he will have to play at some stage. He is not great but he is better than Mason Rudolph.

Even if a team has an injury they’d likely pick up the phone to Carson Wentz or Matt Ryan rather than trade for Mitch

You may get a 5th / 6th for Dotson but I wouldn’t be so quick to get rid of him, it’s not likely that the Oline will stay 100% healthy again and you can never have enough depth on the offensive line.

Can’t imagine the Steelers or any team making a trade prior to cutdowns. It just doesn’t make any sense for anyone involved. Trade for a player that a team can get for free in two weeks

I'm going to go in the opposite direction and make a bold prediction that with the emergence of Spencer Anderson, guys like Chux and Dotson suddenly become expendable. I won't necessarily say that Moore beats out Chux, but cutting Chux and Dotson saves the team $8.7m in cap space, which would give them 19m in cap space, allowing them to go out and potentially make a blockbuster trade for a position of need, whether it be C, RT, or CB.

Trades in general, while it has become more prevalent, the NFL and it's CAP situation are not like the NBA or Baseball. On a talk show today they were talking about teams 'selling', unless a team is close..or experiencing the injury plague you just do not see that many major trades in football, especially during the season when CAPs are tight. Last year McCaffery was dealt, and there may be others , but when you set your 53 and 16 PS players there needs to be someone special (or reason) to trade.

I just posted above trades are rare in the NFL, and normally not the Steeler way, that said with Omar I would put nothing off the table, he is relentless.

    Trade?!

Not right now. Wait until the closing days of the Pre Season. I would imagine a team would want Kevin Dotson given that he does have experience at the position. In addition, Herbig's own experience and Spencer's continued development could see Dotson out the door sooner rather than later. Of course, this is all under the pretext that the trade is worth it for the right price.

Just as I have stated multiple times leading up to the 2023 Draft, finding a Trading Partner is just as important as fielding the negotiation itself.

Mitch's QB rating after week 1 of preseason is 0.0 I would guess his trade value is somewhere in that range. 0.0 Draft trade value.

I would say baring a major injury somewhere nobody wants Kevin Dotson starting for them.

The wild card to me is Dan Moore. Dan Moore is looking better this year, and someone may want to pay a king's ransom for a proven starting LT that is looking better than he did last year. Dan Moore's value is on the rise, would the Steelers say "No" to a 2nd round pick?

I can't see how they would trade Him. He cost hardly anything, and You need a good backup LT at the very least.

This scenario doesn't likely seem to be happening. Unless Broderick Jones can crush it in this second preseason game, pencil in Moore as the starter. Among the players who offer trade value... Kevin Dotson is a more appropriate name here.

Plenty of teams could be in need of a starting Guard. If Spencer Anderson can continue his upwards ascension.... Dotsons spot is all but replaceable.

Agree. Omar being aggressive is why I feel confident in making such a prediction. His style is definitely not the Steelers Way that I or any of us grew up with, and it's rather refreshing, to be honest. If the Steelers do not win a championship during Kenny's rookie deal, it won't be because of a lack of effort from this front office.

It's kinda why I see Chux as the odd man out at T. Moore is more of a natural RT anyways and can seamlessly move back there. The more Chux struggles, combined with Moores steady growth and Jones ascension tells me that getting rid of Chux and his 6m cap hit is very likely. That just gives Omar a ton of flexibility to make other moves. It's rather exciting to see the Steelers be this aggressive.

We're stuck with Mitch for now, unless we find a hidden gem in a future draft....
As for Dotson, since his earlier belly aching, he's simply kept his head down and played football
