I just listened to a pod cast with MAtt Williamson, who is now predicting Spencer Anderson will make the 53 man roster. He said he is having a good camp and the Steelers don't want to lose him if they try to put him on their practice squad. He also said he thinks Dotson will be the odd-man out.

Does not surprise me, I heard in the rumour mill last week or so (for what that was worth) that the Saints were enquiring about him, and that may still happen, doubt it would get much if it appears he will be cut. It may also be they want to wait in case of injury, 7th maybe 6th is likely all they can get.

I think the 4 WR locked at this time are DJ, Pickens, Robinson, CA3 (in spite of what you have been hearing), the last 1 or 2 (if they keep 6) come down to Boykin, Gunner, Butler, and White. Have not heard much about Boykin but his special teams history in known, Gunner I could care less, but for some reason he is here and as many of us shake our heads MT and company do what they do because they are getting the bucks, lol. By most accounts Butler and White have had decent camps, so nothing would surprise me with any combination at the end of camp.

2.5 mil. If Adams is cut. 2 mil for gunner. 2.7 mil. for dotson. We have a couple of guys that can play the nose. We have Austin and Jordan Byrd that can be return men. Byrd could go to the PS for safe keeping. We also have guys that could fill the void of dotson. Save the money and move on from these guys.

Fairly intimidating when you run a pattern and your HC is lined up as the defensive back. No choice but to run a perfect route.

Hey DK, still think Austin is getting cut

He was the only one I heard say Austin was having a bad camp. His interpretation of Tomlins interaction with Austin while subbing as the ref was comical as well. Someone explain to DK that motion just means he didn’t have control of the football before going out of bounds. There was no omg hidden meaning that he was going to cut Austin for that. These clowns and their hot takes.

Be curious to see what DK says on Monday as he was trying to run both Austin and Benton out of town.

I know that they need to do their jobs and comment on training camp, but you can't fully judge how good a player is until you see them play in real games. Some guys just don't practice well, but when the lights come on and they games start, they turn into a different player.

Loudermilk looked pretty BIG tonight, any news on him bulking up this offseason to play inside?

I heard it reported that he is bigger, stronger, and more lean. They said he really worked hard this offseason to alter his body.

    He looked good tonight.

he always was a big guy. part of his downfall though. he's tall. he always was able to play inside or out on the d-line. that's what he did in college too. i could see them keeping 7 on this unit.

    LB:

    kwon looked good.

    roberts will be fine.

    holcomb will be fine.

kwiatkoski looked like a shoulder in the game. not lost in coverage.

muse did not look bad. run or pass.

robinson moves well but i noticed he's still lacking in coverage instincts. similar to last year. i hope they can stash him away while coaching him up. he's just not ready for primetime quite yet. they were right about him. lot's to work with though.

i like this room but it looks crowded. could see 5 kept. kwiatkoski maybe to IR to come back later in the season.

    DB's:

    porter

    peterson

    sullivan

    wallace

    kazee

    fitzpatrick

    neal

    riley

pierre didn't look great but with dawson down and trice down he may get kept. not a bad keep but we may have to evaluate some others and maybe add someone.

    norwood?

robinson did some good things. missed a tackle but was there to disrupt the play. this will be interesting to watch. stay tuned. that is 8 for sure and maybe 9. 20 or 21 so far.

    OLB:

    tj

    highsmith

    herbig

golden he didn't look great but he's the vet.

perales? played a lot. he was running free a lot in the backfield but looked slow to me.

roche he quietly was in on some plays. didn't look great but didn't look bad either. actually looked better than golden in this game but keep an eye on this. at least 4 from here.

this after 1 game. means nothing yet but something to watch the progression.

There isn’t much time to evaluate this guy in camp or two preseason games

    So he makes the 53

My guess is someone else just became toast

6'2" 233 out of Villanova. Spent his rookie year last season on the Colts practice squad.

Chuks got destroyed on that first drive at least 3 times. More worried about RT than LT.

Or injured. Very weird that Roberts was pulled after only 3 plays on defense friday.

The ILB group in 2023 seems to be more aggressive in attacking the running game, than the group they had in 2022.
