Played way too conservatively that game. Let a far less talented team keep it close and make 1 more play.

9ers would have beat us by 20 regardless.

Also I could argue losing to Tim Tebow in a playoff game was a worse loss. That might be the most embarrassing display of all time to let a guy who couldn’t throw to save his life put up 316 yards.

 

Steelers were nowhere near 100% for that game. No Ryan Clark. Ben was at 60% at best. Lots of issues.

1994 Steelers team was stacked. There was no excuse to losing to the Chargers. I can name only 3 players from that team...Seau, Means and Humphries.

And don’t blame Ryan Clark’s absence on giving up 316 yards to Tim Freaking Tebow. That was one of the worst defensive game plans ever created.

 

Sad to say defense doesn`t count as much as it used to due to rule changes.

 

I had My B. Foster jersey on during that game.....I've told this a bunch, but as everyone knows we were up at the half, and I ordered papa John's pizzas for half time for the ole lady, my friends, and Myself. As soon as that game was over I kicked everyone out, and said take Your bad luck a$$es, and that bad luck pizza with You. I haven't eaten papa John's since. I was devastated. Talk about a team being more talented, and losing because of coaching.

Who ever replaced Clark (Mundy?) was so worried about Tebow running that he repeatedly left his assignment and went to stop the run. Tebow then repeatedly threw the ball to the open uncovered man.

The game plan was just fine. Execution by one idiot destroyed it.

Clark plays and we win.

It was a long time ago and potentially Mundy had some blame but come on 316 yards to Tim Tebow is not on one guy. It was a pathetic effort. And if it was all on Mundy WTF was he left in the game? Depth is important too.

No ....half a dozen would rather not compare two Qbs we rooted for, , but about a dozen hate Ben so much they make us defend Him.

 

This debate comes up around 3 or 4 times a year. I'm not interested in rehashing the same arguments again for the umpteenth time. I just hope that Kenny will be entering that conversation at the end of his career.
