And I think that goes for most players and coaches. And I forget who said it, but you can't fix stupid.

:this!: Talent is there, we just play dumb. How long was it going to take to see we could not cover there receivers with our back up corners, they needed help all the time and most of the time we just hung back and kept giving them first downs. Just don't understand why we cannot come up with help or schemes to help these corners. Poor coaching schemes to me.

I wonder if they even go through scenario based talks. I've been in the Army for over 20 years and before we go on a mission we go through some "what ifs". Especially on high pressure missions.

I wonder if anyone pulled Brown asided and said "We got the momentum, just hold on to the ball and we are in good shape".
I wonder if anyone pulled Ben aside and said, "We got the momentum, if the receiver is not there, throw it in the stands".
I wonder if anyone pulled Brown aside and said, " Just field the punt, if it goes over your head let it go".

Short Bus stopped in front of Dallas stadium and unloaded this team, wake up Steeler nation we are not going any further this year dumb team!!!!! Ben throws ball into turf, receivers can't catch a cold, and defense can't stop a team of wheel chair bound old men from beating them.

    thanks for remembering Ron White.

Do you think in film study they give out awards for stupid plays? Brown would walk away with some hardware this week (carrying the ball loose, standing 60 yards deep on a punt return (though where is the special teams coach yelling at him?), going out of bounds to give Dallas 40 extra seconds). So would Ben (the interception, but he also seemed to not see some open guys). Not sure about Wallace - I think he is lazy, not stupid. O-line for falling apart with missed assignments at the end of the game. I realized I didn't list any defensive players, I think the just weren't very talented today, not stupid

Agreed and this is ALL on Tomlin. He doesn't coach to the intellectual part of the game like Bellichick, Payton and others. To him, it's all about imposing your will and winning the war of attrition. He even said when he was first hired that he was "a fundamentalist as opposed to scheme" which essentially means if we block and tackle better than the other team we don't have to outthink them or out coach them. This is why we seem unprepared at times.

Well IF we blow these next couple of games and miss out on the playoffs do you think Tomlin will come to camp next year and be ready to crack the whip or do you just think this is Tomlin's style for the rest of his career.

I think the leopard will not be able to change his spots.

My personal opinion of Tomlin. Big Ben and Dick LeBeau have compensated for a lot of his deficiencies.

I want to say this is his style so that tells me at the age of 71, I may never see a Steeler SB again. Unless I lucky to live until 85-90 and by then I'll forget who I want to win.
