Bell was actually good at it. McFarland hasn't shown that at all. He has shown that he is likely to get Pickett smashed if he has to pick up a blitz and he isn't nearly a good enough runner to justify that risk.

Let's make this simple for you.

Snell can block. McFarland can't. Advantage Snell.

Snell has been the better runner as a pro. Advantage Snell.

Snell is a good special teams player. McFarland is not. Advantage Snell.

Tomlin has a fascination with McFarland's speed. That's nice, but it hasn't done the Steelers much good so far.

I wonder if Snell doesn’t want to play here anymore.

White seems pretty good, Khan just keeps adding competition, iron sharpens iron.

After those two clips I'm not impressed or interested, I'd take Edmunds back and I never liked him. This guy is dancing 4 yards from the endzone when a defender is right on him and who could knock the ball out and out the back of the endzone. Act like you been there kids.

In the Miami one he catches the pass and has like 10 yards to go into the endzone and he starts strutting just before he gets across the goalline and there is a defender coming up on his backside while he is worrying about showboating. It might be my Monday Morning Grumpies coming out but yeah didn't care for it. The XFL one just showed some bad tackling on a guy who they had hemmed in and wasn't impressive when you take into account what the league is. Long answer yes we watched different clips, mine were viewed with grumpy old men glasses.

Exactly the same for me. I'm not looking this guy at all and looking at him as a camp body

It’s your grumpy glasses. He made a nice catch at about the 10, made a good move to make the defender miss at the 5 and high stepped into the endzone from the 2 or 3 yard line.

They can’t all be Heath, man.

sadly this is true. They should have a big sign at the practice facility like at amusement parks. How do you measure up to Heath Miller.

I don't think you are paying attention to what is going on ar camp. Mcfarland is running with the 1s in offensive formations that has him moving outside as a WR. Canada has designed plays for a speedy RB that can motion outside and get down the field.

Mcfarland could be one of the key players in this more aggressive offense that wants to push the ball down the field. Start him in the backfield and then motion him outside and see who goes with him to cover him on the play. If it is one of their LBs, then they are screwed.

I think you are paying too much attention to a few preseason practices and ignoring what we've seen on the field. If you look at the latter, you will see why it would be foolish to take snaps away from Warren and give them to McFarland. Maybe they use him in place of a receiver, but as a back? I certainly hope not, because if he gets stuck in blitz pickup he is likely to get Pickett hurt.

DK was raving about McFarland in Backs on Backers yesterday on the Ramon show. Just have to wait to see if all these positive reviews coming out at practice translate to anything during game time.

Check out 46:20 on the below clip from yesterday to hear DK go off on what a great camp McFarland is having.

I believe just wait ,and see is the best approach with McFarland. He's been here awhile with a total of I believe 222 yards combined catching ,and rushing, and No tds. I'd wait ,and see.

He has done nothing to make me have faith in him as an NFL RB. He has been a camp demon for years now with almost zero real performance. Until I see him consistently doing good things on an NFL field during regular season games, I can't buy in.

Exactly as you and STD wrote, especially with two guys ahead of him who have shown they can produce in NFL games.
