I keep noticing from these videos the front pass rush isn’t very enthusiastic

That makes the pitch and catch a lot easier

It’s still basically football in shorts

But fun and exciting to watch none the less

Preseason when we play people fighting for their jobs will be a better evaluation

Pickens can track a ball and be in position to catch, making difficult catches look easy.

That said, some of the signs have been encouraging though; doubly so from the Rookie Class with Joey Porter Jr. being one of the biggest overall winners of Training Camp. He has been nothing short of what I knew he could coming out of Penn State; a tall, lengthy Corner who can kick Wide Receivers asses into submission. What's more is that the major issue of him being flagged for potential DPI that I had has greatly been reduced. Still some warts but much better than I suspected; him getting DPI calls a lot more frequently.

Yep just 6 more days. It seems like a long time ago when we beat the Browns and then were hoping against hope that Joe Flacco could lead the Jets to a win against the Dolphins.

 

Some takeaways from Steelers camp

1) Mike Tomlin is a stud. He brings energy/juice. Everything is a competition. He’s constantly teaching & challenging.

2) This was a very physical practice the day after a scrimmage. Testing and taxing the team to make them mentally/physically tougher

. 3) Darnell Washington is enormous. He is listed at 264. No chance! He held his own vs TJ Watt in 1-1’s. He’s a smooth mover too.

4) Pickens hype is real. He has everything it takes to be elite WR. Burst, body control & hands +++

5) Kenny Pickett is thinking fast & looks very confident. He has some Burrow traits. He’ll take a big leap in year 2.

The pass rush knows they can't hit the QB, so maybe they aren't going all out, I have been hearing Herbig has been impressive rushing the passer so far.

 

Liked that....just wish it was thrown a little bit sooner, and it would have been no contest. I know ....I'm being picky.

 

yes they want accuracy but they are also getting him looking to the right spot and building timing. pass rush or not. trying to get that muscle memory instinct working. baby steps as this builds in camp. getting him looking at the right things first throwing the ball on time and getting the feel for these receivers first then they will put more bodies around him as the process builds.

I'm Glad to hear Fehoko is getting double teamed and allowing the others to feast.

 

Eric Green lumbered down the field and was a very good TE. Some big guys don’t look smooth but they cover a lot of ground with each stride and are deceptively fast.

 

This is the last weekend until February without football.

Well that was a really quick season

 

No doubt, of course the practice is needed, but in my different timelines in media I see headlines from many different teams stating this QB or receiver is looking all pro, I like what Omar has built, but the fire in real time will forge it or expose it.
