What's the fun in crushing someone after the fact? The real action is bashing them before they do anything wrong! It's a fan's prerogative. :emperor:

Quite frankly, if he isn't getting 10 targets a game, he should get upset. I definitely will be.

And really every single living and dead carbon based organism is unique. Even identical twins.
But definitely not “more unique”. That is terrible writing.

That would be 170 targets if he plays every game. Only six players in the NFL were targeted 170 times or more in 2022. Figure in that the Steelers are likely to rely heavily on the running game and Johnson is likely to get more targets than Pickens, you should and he should probably prepare yourselves to be upset.

I love Pickens’ confidence. I love Kenny Pickett and the confidence and poise that he’s shown in his brief career. I’m hearing the accolades and the expectations, but the fact is that neither of them have done squat so far in their young NFL careers. They both need to keep their heads down and continue working on their trades to be the best they can be. Pickens is an athletic freak but that will only get him so far unless he polishes up his route running. Pickett has shown flashes but his TD/INT ratio was less than one and he hasn’t shown the ability to go deep on a consistent basis. We’ve heard all the lofty expectations and self promotion, now it’s time to go out and prove it week after week. I’m confident they can do that, but the time for talk is quickly coming to an end and the time for action is nearly upon us.

I think in todays social media age and everything out there so easily accessible these young guys say things sometimes that get blown out of proportion. Statistically the Steelers passing offense was terrible last season outside of a couple late drives by KP and a few great catches by George P. Now there can be a myriad of reasons as to why such was the case like the age of players and them being rookies or Canada dumbing down the offense or Canada just being dumb and sucking etc. but if these guys truly believe they are the best or this good I would love to see it. They have a LONG way to go…

    https://www.nfl.com/news/five-nfl-wide-receivers-poised-to-break-out-in-year-2

A good read and some nice information on Pickens ..I knew he was above average on contested balls , but to be the 3rd. best behind only Justin Jefferson and DK Metcalf is a pretty high place for a Rookie WR to be ..Then you add in the fact that Coach T was protecting his Rookie QB and not taking more shots on purpose GP has a great chance to lead the NFL with more chances..

Hopefully our OC or someone on the staff can design sets and route trees that put GP 1 on 1 ... I would love for the Team to force this issue as anytime KP sees that he should give GP a shot ...

He won't be signing a 2nd contract with the Steelers then. He was 21 last season and he doesn't turn 23 until next March. Barring injury, he has a lot of football ahead of him.

If he doesn't cause he feels like he's not getting enough targets then let him walk cause he'll just be another Diva WR in a very long list of them in the NFL.

btw- I'm not advocating for that but from his early actions he's already like a typical diva WR. JMHO and I hope I'm completely wrong on that thought.

Diva? What has he done that is diva-like? Has he demanded special treatment? Dude is a natural born playmaker. It could not be more obvious. I do not knock him for accepting what everyone else can also see. He is special and deserves the ball.

DJ better not get more targets than Pickens this year. He had an absurd number last year and got us 6 yards a target. Pickens was WAY more productive. He deserves to be the number one option. DJ utterly failed to deliver as that. Plus, he will thrive as a second thought.

If he has 7-8 targets per game with some targets downfield,he will be fine...Last year he had below 5 target(84 targets in 17 games) per game who was way too low for a player like him.He had 9.5 yards per target who was one of the best in the league. The Steelers need to involve him more in the game plan and be the first option in this passing game.

Not sure what this guy is doing. What he thinks and what he is. may not align with reality. Besides, why would you give bulletin board ammo to those who will be making more of an effort to prove otherwise? Is he even the best WR on this team? JMO>

Too funny:) My wife is fluent in Spanish, accent and all. When she helps out our local hispanic population people literally stop in their tracks and stare. She is a white skin Irish girl.

I wonder if Kenny Pickett saw his comment? If I was his QB I'd be happy knowing this guy will catch all those throws I just miss on. Kind of like how Swann baled Bradshaw out many times.

Maybe, but take for example people's looks being unique. There are certain degrees of how someone looks. For instance, you have those who are good looking, average looking, ugly, very ugly, and just plain fugly. Where those lines get drawn is an individual thing. JK JMO>

Exactly. I am of the mindset that we are who we were at the end of last year until we're not. So right now, looking at being average again until we're not. Wishing and hoping is not something I do not bank on but will say the Steelers seem to have made changes since the end of last year. So Mr Picken's, you opened your mouth now time to keep your foot out of it. I will be glad if you can. JMO>

Let's just say I miss the days of John Stallworth. Guy was beyond one of the greatest to ever play the game yet you never heard him gloat, brag, whine or belittle another player or coach. Just let his play speak for itself. Nowadays it's how much clickbait a player can get. I get it, George is probably great. I just wish he'd be more humble about it.

I don't get how he is a diva. He wants to go against the best corners in football. He wanted to be rookie of the year, he wants to be an elite pro bowl receiver every year. If he is caught in a run first offensive with the play calling like last year, then he will look to go to a team like the 49ers or Chiefs, who could fault him for that.

Top receivers, whether WR or TE... Chiefs Travis Kelce, Rams Cooper Kupp, Bucs Mike Evans, Patriots Rob Gronkowski to name a few. They are game planned all the time and still beat you. Who is this type of receiver on the Steelers right now.
