Good evening Steelers Nation. My wife and I are going to be bringing our 6 month old daughter to Pittsburgh for her first Steelers game October 29th against the Jags. We read on the website that no Matter the age, a ticket is required for admission, so here's the question. She will obviously be sitting on our laps during the game so we were going to buy her an inexpensive ticket and spend a little more for My wife and I's ticket. Has anyone tried this before or will the ticket we buy her have to be right next to ours? Seems silly to pay $500 for an infants ticket when she can't Even occupy the seat on her own. Any help would be appreciated. GO STEELERS!

I don't have any firsthand knowledge, but I found this from 2021. I hope this helps.

    https://blog.ticketcity.com/nfl/nfl-child-ticket-policy/

And this sad story from 2018:

    https://www.tripadvisor.co.nz/ShowU...re_Stadium_Tours-Pittsburgh_Pennsylvania.html

I also found this from 2022 and unfortunately I think you have to buy a ticket. Scroll down to Access/Admission and it seems to say that you need to buy a ticket for an infant for a Steelers game. They allow it for Pitt games, but not Steelers games.

From what it looks like you can just buy your kid a cheap ticket. Unless the person next to you complains.

That's pathetic. Even the money hungry airlines don't require a ticket if the baby sits on your lap.

I have gone to Steelers games for years and even been a ticket holder. If you breathe you need a ticket.

Doesn't matter if your 1 Day old or 100 years old.

Wouldn't a babysitter be way cheaper?

This would be wise move, buy the cheapest nosebleed single ticket you can find and keep them on your lap. Odds are no one is going to complain about it.

I'm not sure where your seats will be at. If your sitting in a Club section you have to go through a second bunch of ticket scanners and Ushers, and if the baby doesn't have a ticket for a seat in that club it could be an issue.

This could even be a problem with field level sections as they often have a lot more ushers. When you go up to the 500 level I would imagine you wouldn't have the problem as much far less ushers up top, too many steps, could give them a heart attack. LOL

Good luck guy!!! Hope the little one starts her life with a victory!!!! Sad thing is she'll never know but I'm sure you will keep a reminder for when she is old enough. I have no way to know but I'm guessing that will be one hell of a game. You are going to see a ready for prime time Trevor Lawrence. Yet another QB to fear in the AFC. Too bad Kenny goona whip his ass!!

I knew a guy born in 1961 but always told us he saw The Beatles live. If memory serves that were only in the States around 64-65. We never pointed that out to him. I want your daughter telling people she was at a Steeler game and they destroyed Jacksonville. I don't want her to tell people she remembers it or they will snicker behind her back like we did to the Beatles guy:)

I thought the same thing when I looked this stuff up. I would have thought that the Steelers wouldn't be one of just a couple teams in the entire NFL to demand payment of an additional ticket for an infant that is going to be held the entire game.

Like they aren't making enough money. That's a bad look as there are Steelers fans going to their first game and already trying to introduce new Steelers fans into the fold. I don't get how this helps them in any way long-term.

    It's a Steelers game, not a daycare.

If they allowed everyone under 2 years of age attend for free then there would probably be a 1,000 crying babies everywhere needing diaper changes.

The parents are holding the infant for the game. Even if it's just allowed for children that are less than 1 year old. If they don't want young children there, they should just have a minimum age for football games.

What's the difference between a paying customer sitting in their seat holding a baby in their arms paying for a seat for the infant, compared to a paying customer sitting in their seat holding a baby in their arms that didn't pay for a seat for the baby?

Answer: However much the price of the ticket was that they jammed the parents of the child for.

They then force people to buy a seat that won't be used which then denies that number of fans from getting to see a game if the game sells out.

By the way, there are many adult fans that drink too much, are violent, obscene, cry, and act like fools that shouldn't be allowed at football games. Talk about needing day care for adults and diaper changes. I'd much rather sit next to a young child than an inebriated moron screaming, threatening, fighting, or carrying on. If they weeded out the idiots that ruin games for other fans then I would understand your point a little more, but they don't do it nearly enough.

There are some fans that would attempt to pass their children off as "babies".

Not only that but imagine parents attempting to care for a crying baby because of 60,000 screaming fans. How annoyed would the fans be in the immediate vicinity of the crying baby? A crying baby might cause a fight with an inebriated fan.

I don't think sporting events are a good place for babies or children under a certain age.

I personally would never bring an infant to a sporting event. However, I could understand someone else wanting to.

I certainly understand your points. The fact is that they are fine with people bringing a baby as long as they pay for a seat. That's what's so ridiculous about the stance by the team. There are babies crying and carrying on at all games all the time if they pony up the cash for the crumb cruncher.

The hypocrisy of all of it is astounding.

I have no problem with parents bringing their babies to sporting events, concerts, restaurants ext… as long as they are willing to pay for them to attend. Bringing your dogs into my restaurants, grocery stores, hardware stores or in a plane cabin I do have a problem with unless they are truly a for real service animal and not just some phony companion look at me symbol.

You will need a ticket to get in the stadium
If you buy club seats you will need a club seat ticket to get into that

Otherwise a cheaper seat with the new Steeler fan on your lap will properly work out

Why don't you buy an expensive ticket, I'll buy the cheap ticket. And then I'll sit in your seat.

    Sounds fair to me

I do not care about if someone brings their animal in. If it ****s, clean it up. No different than a baby....
Actually a lot of animals are better than a baby.
