I see it but as the head coach he should have had an answer not "I don't know"

Its his team and Canada works under him.

I see MNF in his future if he wants it. That guy has the gift of gab and could be the next Jon Gruden.

Nothing to see here. Khan pretty said he expects Coach to be around for years to come.

Khan doesn’t make the decisions on Tomlin though. The important thing is that Rooney co-signed what Khan said and reiterated that Tomlin’s extension will inevitably get done.

This is a non story that the Tomlin haters desperately want to pretend is real.

Guys, guys…I see a lot of arguing and bickering back and forth about Tomlin, Pickett and the state of the team after a busy off-season. Worry not, my friends. There is great reason to be optimistic about Mike Tomlin’s continuation as our head coach for the long haul, Kenny Pickett’s development along with the development of some of the other young players like George Pickens. You guys are forgetting that we have an ace up our sleeves for the 2023 season… 1ED7B481-A168-4D5F-A880-4B42BFB95B0F.jpeg

If you are still arguing the point, you don't see it. It seemed like a joke to deflect a question he didn't want to deal with. There isn't some magic formula in the Red Zone. The line has to eliminate mistakes and Pickett needs to make plays. it's really that simple.

Maybe some should check the stats for Red Zone TD scoring. How many posting here have done that?

Last year the Steelers ranked 22nd scoring 52% of the time. Dallas ranked 1st. Detroit was in the Top 5. The Browns were 1% ahead of the Steelers. The Bengals were in the Top 5. Baltimore ranked the lowest in the AFC North.

To me, the argument here shouldn't be about RZ scoring. Rather, it should be focused on GETTING to the RZ. Also, scoring TDs in the RZ Doesn't assure much as you can witness by looking at Dallas at 71%. Did Dallas win the Super Bowl last year? Nope.

Sometimes it looks like posters are searching for the negatives. While there are many in any game, you simply can't judge the worth of a team using a misleading stat.

And also scoring TD more often outside of the red zone is very important....Just to look at the longest TD of the steelers in the first half,it was all-time bad!

Yes and I had also mentionned that it was in the first half...It was still all-time bad.Overall, for the entire season they had only 2 TD outside of the red zone on offense!

I don't know about you, but last I looked, scoring, PERIOD, is the imperative. 1st half, 2nd half, who cares?

That said, the Steelers weren't very good at 2-6. Taking into consideration how a re-tooled OL performed going forward and how the defense came around, I'd consider looking for excuses to rag on the Steelers doesn't make much sense.

I DID read your post, twice. If talking about something so innocuous as yardage of scoring throws floats your boat, have at it. Maybe you could stick to talking real football?

FYI, Steelerfan43, if you dislike what I say, at least be adult enough to debate the point. Your response was childish. Just sayin......

First, I merely posted. Second, I'm NOT the one who posted a Thumbs Down. Third, if you think everyone posting is a Steeler fan, explain to me WHY being negative is important?

I'm all for talking football. But some of this stuff is downright laughable. Really, WHO CARES about how many RZ passing TDs, after 8 games, is a debatable topic?

I had however specified in post 136 that I was only talking about the first half of the season....8 yards the longest offensive TD for the first half is all-time bad and overall as I specified 2 post later (post 138) ,the steelers only had 2 TD outside of the red zone in 2022....My point was that yes the red zone offense was a problem but they also need to be much better to score TD outside of the red zone and having more big play...I don't think it was hard to understand
