Let me start by saying that I being the true Steelers fan I am will NEVER throw in the towel on our season, ITS OVER WHEN WE ARE MATHEMATICALLY ELIMINATED OR THERE ARE NO MORE GAMES TO PLAY. However I believe that what we're witnessing is a transition period where the veterans remaining on the team lack leadership and deference qualities that make everyone accountable (Keisel is not my ideal captain). Our leader in waiting on defense has yet to appear but i do like that our secondary is AT LEAST ON THE FIELD getting valuable experience. WE NEED LINEBACKERS. No more big and brawny, we need strong and swift (have to be able to beat lineman with speed, get to the future Ray Rice's and drop in coverage (MY NUMBER 1 PRIORITY).

I would like to get a new Strength and Conditioning coach, Offensive Line coach, and Special Teams Coach (Too many injuries, bad techniques, schemes. I do like that Beachem, Decastro, and Pouncey are playing together (They are the future and should only get better).

Backup QB is a must. I do not want to see both Charlie and Byron on the sidelines after this season period.

Just a sidenote: AB, The Special Teams coach and Big Ben cost us the game today (Browns fumble, lack of position on the Dallas kick off, and going out of bounds on the 3rd and 29 were mental lapses. Big Ben has always struggled with accuracy on that out route. I remember him throwing those picks when he was a rookie. The ball has to be placed where only your receiver can catch it, Ben threw BEHIND Wallace. Ben is better on the in route and in the seams. In addition the first pass of the game to Wallace was behind him, if he throws it out front Wallace is off to the end zone.

    Thoughts?

don't forget the fumble by Sanders(again) and a few easy drops by Wallace. These young receivers are bleeding this team. They can make a great play and completely mess it up the next.

New head coach, he is installing his vagina ways on this team. No more hard nose football we are use to. Losing to teams like Oakland, Tennesse, Cleveland, are not acceptable.

i would clean all the old glories, tring to trade troy ike harrison woodley hampton , let's get back to rebuild with young guy with fire , this team has lost his , they already did too much , we will live a nother transition year but with plenty of good young promise , and if the first year we win only 2 games than draft high for the first time and bring more talent , in a couple of years we can have another good team with emerging stars . something san francisco is doing

our oline consist of Starks, Foster, Pouncey, DeCastro, Gilbert. Beechum has been impressive for a 7th round pick.

our dline consist of Keisel, McClendon, Heyward

our linebacker consist of Woodley, Timmons, Spence, Draft pick

our corners consist of Taylor, and Cortez Allen

our safeties consist of Clark and Draft pick.

As I mentioned on another thread-

we need to get a new RB, because none on the roster are the answer
a new safety needs to be drafted
we need to get active in free agency rather than just sit and watch it

If we are truly interested in RELOADING, we must participate in
FA. Maybe my expectations, are too high for this team. I am very frustrated
by the circumstances that have unfolded this year. Just a simple question,
do our players looked excited to be playing? I am tired of watching other teams score
and put up points, I am tired of poor fundamental football. I am tired of us
not being able to flow offensivley. There just seems to be no rythim with our
offense, I know our OL needs help, but this problem has gone on along time.
I am sorry but I don't get excited watching the PGH Steelers play. Please
somebody in the Steeler organization help me out with this.

I disagree about the RBs. At the moment, we are the most stacked with RB talent we have been for a very, very long time. Execution and strategy has been a problem, as well as o-line play. Last night, Dwyer started with two immense spearhead runs straight into the Dallas line. And then... we aired it out for the rest of the quarter. After that, Dwyer ceased to be effective.

Whatever people's feelings on the guy, I simply cannot understand why Mendenhall is not suiting up when we need all the help we can get. Is he really going to be a hindrance to the team that much?

But I agree about the safeties. I have been calling for Golden to get playing time all season. I'm not giving up on the guy yet, but he certainly looked average. Though I guess it's difficult to assess the secondary when we were playing with our 4th and 5th DBs.

I believe I heard Simms say last night that Cortez Allen was one of the best nickel corners in the league.

I'm not sure Simms knows who Cortez Allen is, or he was just spouting his usual idiotic comments...

Myabe if they stopped acting like thugs and stopped worrying about money they might be better players. They call themselves young money crew for pete's sake. All 3 are dropping passes and fumbling at alarming rates. The only dude with good hands seems to be Cotcherey.

This team totally reminds me of the team which played the year after winning the Super Bowl. They lack focus and they seem to lack anyone other than Ben who can "make a play" come crunch time. I have some complaints about certain players, but I will keep that all in until after the season is over.
