    :bscow:

Unforeseen circumstances aside, we have a very good idea what this team will provide. They had a good nucleus and added to that with what I feel was a very good draft and FA acquisitions.

I don’t know what Kenny’s ceiling will be but he’ll be a good QB, thats easy to see.

I'm aware...NEW, as in NEW GM... He's not leapfrogging Tomlin in the pecking order...IF , Tomlin struggles mightily this year...It will Rooney who will make a decision, not Khan...Is what I was alluding to

Holcomb is my favorite storyline this year...Dude is Thumper, and loves to hit... Something we haven't had for a very long time from our ILB's..The old, great, physical Steelers D's always had a hard hitting ILB'er, not this soft as S*** Garbage I've watched for to many years... Let's hope this year changes things

They usually extend him with 2 years remaining with 2021 being the exception. It could be they are following that time frame again or it could be a subtle message, need to see improvement come playoffs.

People will scoff but not winning a playoff game or worse, not making the playoffs would reflect very poorly on Tomlin.

His job is probably safe forever though. Tomlins response about his contract definitely doesn’t sound like a man worried about his job security and honestly, don’t know if it would make a difference to a coach like Tomlin who by all accounts, is a football junkie that gives his all everyday and doesn’t need threats to motivate him.

Not to argue, but there is a real chance He steps back(God...I hope not). Nobody he played had NFL tape on Him, or they had never faced Him. I personally don't think He will. I think He will take a step forward, but not a one of us knows for sure....the Man only played a total of what????? .....12 games last year. That's far from knowing how good He will be. Remember when many thought Mitch Trubisky was the answer for the Bears for example. Now He's a backup here.

Of course, none of us know but that doesn’t stop you or I betting the over on games won. That was easy money ;)

I feel good about Kenny and where the team is at. Some may want to be cautious and take the wait and see approach, I find that boring.

I wish I had as much optimism as you did about a guy who took 5 years to figure it out in college. Admittedly I wasn't a big fan of his being drafted (at least not as early as he did), but maybe you were so you're a lot more invested. That being said, I hope your optimism pays off and you can tell me "I told you so". Just don't see it right now combined with the fact that MC is still OC.

Hope we do well and we don't have to change coaches, but they would line up to take this job. Be interesting to see who they ended up hiring.

You just had to put it that way;) I'm trying to overlook that part which is lost in all the hype. A talking head on NFL Network said something to the effect that the Steelers are in his top 5 as teams that could go either way.

I always try to remain cautiously optimistic. We saw some good and bad from Pickett last year. Will he improve on the bad? Only time will tell. Same with pickens. Will he improve his route running and in turn become a more valuable piece of the offense? Again. Only time will tell. How long will it take for the offensive line to gel? Will they be major injury free again this year? Highly unlikely. Will their replacements be up to the task? What about our new linebackers? Will they be able to fix what’s been broken since shazier went down? Who is going to play slot corner? Last year it was maulet on run downs and Sutton on passing downs. This year we don’t know. Although there has been speculation Peterson will slide into the slot. However, how many reps did he play in the a lot last year? 0

basically we have so many unknowns to sit there and claim tomlin has all the pieces now is asinine. We hope so, but hope in one hand, piss in the other, and see which one fills first

Why are you looking at college and not how he progressed over the course of last season? And if you are going to look at how long it took for it to click in college then why not look at it from the perspective that the game is easier for him now?

Pickett was among my least favorite in the draft but I’m not going to cling to that and ignore what I saw from him last season. He had a rough start but they had him throwing the ball 50 freaking times, a rookie with a bad line and no run game. All I saw him do though is improve each week and finish strong.

It’s not about told you so’s, we just have different approaches to the season. For me, half the fun of being a fan is the excitement of the upcoming season. I like the players they have, theres no area that I look at and feel dread. ILB probably the biggest question for me but I like Holcomb and feel Robinson is an up and comer. Roberts isnt a bad player either. That trio certainly won’t be any worse than what they had last season.

This is the best I have felt about the team in several seasons. Mostly because of the QB situation. We had a declining Ben and then Trubisky and a rookie last season.

Then there is the line, how can people not be excited about that and a healthy Harris running behind them.

Avoid the injury bug and I feel they will break the winless playoff drought.
