When you don’t get an extension your job security is not high

Has the pieces in place, nothing short of a playoff win is acceptable.

They haven’t even determined who will be on the 53 yet.

It always depends on the context....like if the steelers finish at 12-5 but play against the chiefs and a Mahomes on fire in the first round and lose a very close one, it would be unfair for Tomlin to lose his job but if they lost against a team like the titans in a blowout, that would be a different story!

Sure, it's 2 extreme, but it will depend on the context

I see a front office role in his future.

Well this is interesting. I was 100% sure they would give Mike what he wants. I believe as said above it's all about context. Could it be that a 9-8 non losing season would still spell doom for Mike??????

Should a nightmare season happen I think I'd like to start with a youngster out of NCAA. Although I'll be pissed as hell I can't brag about 3 Coaches since 1969.

I can't see that. I think he'd take a very sweet offer from another NFL team.

BTW: Thanks for using your bucket and controlling those damn fires.

A wise move, its time to prove you can do more than .500 or .550 ball
3 playoff wins in 10 years, time to prove a bit more, or else the Standard is the Standard to Finish with a non-losing record and not actually a legit chance at chasing the championship trophy.

If he can make playoffs and win some games, maybe we look at extension if not.

See what happens next season for a further contract.

So what key players are not making it? Kenny? Pickens? DJ? Robinson? TJ? Highsmith? Heyward? Fitz? Peterson? Harris? Warren? Porter JR? Broderick? Seumalo? Holcomb?

They are primed to make a playoff run. I’m not even advocating for Tomlin to be fired if they don’t and I don’t believe Rooneys ever would anyway just saying Khan and Weidl have given Tomlin plenty to work with and the playoff winless drought should end this season.

I’m sure you’ve heard of this minor thing called injury. Plenty to work with? A bunch of people that have never played together and 7 rookies.

Exactly! There’s not a team out there that knows how their season is going to play out. Every single one of our signings and draft picks could fall flat on their face, but people think crap is fixed. Some of you are counting chickens before they hatch.

You are obviously amongst the people with unreasonable expectations.

Believing everyone we have signed and drafted will pan out and all of our issues are fixed is a unreasonable expectation

I’m going to assume I’m talking to people that don’t need obvious things stated like injuries.

Nobody said all problems are solved...No team is perfect, even super bowl champions can have injuries or weaknesses...Good teams find a way to overcome problems

This year will depend a lot on Kenny Pickett's development, no doubt about that.
