Yep completely understand your point. I sometimes forget that not everyone has been on as long as some of us old timers and don't know the nuances of our community. I'm pretty sure we could write a primer for new members and we will still miss things. Welcome to the board and enjoy your time, don't take anything too seriously and I'm sure the longer you are here the more you will catch on to our quirks. In this instance you will find that if you start a sentence with "I heard this opinion somewhere today" like 95% of responses will ask for a link because as a community we are a skeptical bunch. Apparently You haven't been on here long. I have had to back everything I say people don't want to believe, or like, and then By gosh don't have one word incorrect. LoL. Although just because some Guy in His mother's basement has a blog doesn't mean He knows a dang thing about football, or what is going on.....He was probably doing D&D blogs just 6 months ago...., but this has gotten Him more likes.

 

I don't remember the specific story, but it sounds to me like he reported the spin of a source, not that he made things up. Bouchette covered that team for about 40 years. There were definitely times he got things wrong, but made something up? No. I don't think so.

 

It's not every word. It is something that sounds dubious that was shared by a poster with a history of making false claims on this board.

 

I don't think he made the story up, I think he reported what he was told, that this was what was being offered with out the full details and so he went to press and said Harrrison turned down more money from the Steelers to sign for less with Cincinnati. Fans read the story and ran with it. He later had to clarify that with all the incentives and bonuses the amount would have been more than his deal with the Bengals but the important point was that it was a very incentive heavy deal where hitting that dollar amount was contingent on other things.

So my saying a mostly made up story is probably a poor choice of words for me or hyperbole. I remember having page long discussions with other fans who just couldn't understand why Harrison left and kept coming back to that article going see he had more more from the Steelers which wasn't true. He had the potential to make more money but not the guaranteed money he got from the Bengals. People were hating on the guy based on that article when he just wanted cash in hand.

Russell signed a 61 miliion 6 year contract with 39 million guaranteed, total CAP then was 109 million. not to be outdone DH Bey was given 23.5 guaranteed on a 38 million deal..again the raiders. LMAO

 

Never had any till late in life, they are enjoyable and quite harmless at my age.

It's not bad, where it get's a little dicey is picking up the 5th year option for both high 1st rounders in the same year, but if he works out he might get extended before that..if not they will likely be drafting in a top spot again lol.
