    Ouch.

This all said, this is on Chase and no one but himself. Injuries are indeed random but mitigating their likelihood isn't. That JPJ trade is looking better and better.

yep - for all the great WR's we boast of, we have whiffed plenty of times.

Wheaton too, was marginal at best.

Are you on crack and/or meth? Burress, Ward and Randle El were a great WR corps for Maddox and rookie Roethlisberger. Also... Plaxico made the winning catch vs. 18-0 Patriots in the Super Bowl. Denying Brady and Belichick the undefeated season was awesome.

Again how quickly it can turn for some players and the fickle wind of fan love. Claypool went from a brilliant rookie year where pundits and fans alike were calling Mapletron comparing him to Megatron to a 2nd year where teams figured out they needed to pay him some attention but also without Ben as well as having off the field issues that turned fans off. Then the trade and his self destruction in Chicago and getting labeled the biggest draft bust when he clearly doesn't make the top ten on that list.

Without a HOF Qb there will be even more. Let's hope KFP is the next Guy. Then we won't have to worry. It's not magic that all teams with great Qbs have no trouble draft Wrs. I've been trying to say this forever.

Steelers are very good at drafting WR’s. No one said they don’t miss on them.

Claypool is more about work ethic than talent. He’s already falling out of favor with the Bears staff because of that. Also has maturity issues.

He had a very promising rookie season that fell flat at the end. That was a red flag but was written off as Tomlin trying to protect Chase from hitting the rookie wall. Remember he actually said that and we gave him grief for it. Must have been something going on behind the scenes we weren’t hearing about. Probably was in Tomlins dog house for not working hard.

Didn't you follow him at ND? Did he show any signs of maturity issues there or did the media in South Bend keep a lid on it? I had a few PA residents burst my bubble on Penn State and how Joe PA ran his team because he stressed education and never ran the score up to impress the AP and Coach's polls. They said a lot of lions players could get away with anything in State College and they never had it go nation wide in the media.

Its a great trade for us regardless of JPJ's career in Pittsburgh. Claypool seems to be set on sabotaging his NFL career and will likely see himself out of the league by this year or next. Even if JPJ is a bust, we still got a pick that was spent on a player we really liked and will be in B&G longer than Claypool will be in the league. It just makes it a bigger win for us if JPJ turns into a great player.
