What's going to be Canada's next excuse if the offense is disappointing again?

If you look at the NFL, it's very rare for an OC to keep his job after 2 bottom 10 offenses no matter what. We need to have the results, no more excuses!

excuse? it's not an excuse, it's using what is given to you and using it to maximize it's ability at that point. only a hater would see it as you do. i get it you hate him. fine that's your choice. i've given you many reasons as to why he has done what he's done. he calls the plays, he doesn't run the plays. i'm pretty sure he was far more aware of each players abilities when forming these game plans than most fans. as the players evolve so will the offense. just as he did when players declined.

Problem,Canada does not put its players in a position of success very often. If you watch this video you will understand more

i see a lot of pressure making him have to leave the initial play call and have to run and improvise on the move. i see young receivers not helping the qb, which as they learn they should get better at. as the line started giving him time the plays went much better. i see a young qb running into pressure. i see many plays where they have to give more protection and that puts less players into patterns. that alone causes the ones in the patterns to have to succeed. i see a lot of as you say excuses, but they do pay the other team as well.

i also see a lot of the things i have told you in several different previous ways that it isn't the play called but the execution of the play breaking down by many different players. not the plays fault, but the players fault.

just because someone puts it on youtube doesn't mean they explain the whole situation going on. it really can come down to one player on any given play to ruin that play call. why do you think they practice? why do you think they watch film? it's not to say this play stinks so we will not call it again. it's to teach the players what they did or didn't do on a given play and what to do to make it work next time when a defender does this or that.

11 players have to do their job on a play. 11 players are trying to counter that play. whichever side strings the most together and forces the other not to usually wins. what these young guys have seen in college gets magnified 10 fold by speed and knowledge. that's why many rookies don't walk on to an nfl field day one and take over.

but you go ahead and blame the play caller and play design for it because you have a hard on against him, instead of looking at each one and seeing who screwed that play up on the field. do you think mahomes likes to have to improvise the way he does? do you think andy draws them up like that? a receiver can read what a defender does one way and a qb can read it another. it's not as cut and dry as lines on a chalkboard always. that's why they work together and get more familiar with each other. that's why vets can more easily grasp things over younger players.

Every offense need a easy layup for a good gain sometimes.Remember the last super bowl when Andy Reid give at Mahomes 2 easy TD pass in the red zone?...This is great coaching, outcoaching the other DC!

I hope it will change and yes the offense have some other issues and this offense is still not perfect but I am not sure Matt Canada would be able to have a top 10 offense even if he had the greatest show on turf at their peak!

Question why before Mahomes was this awesome play caller losing to Mike T. all the time???? Hmmm could Mahomes have a lot to do with it???

Alex Smith was not good enough and their run defense was awful too...The chiefs were still in the top 10 on offense in PPG but Smith was too conservative. Reid with Mahomes is the perfect match. We all know how great Mahomes is and with some easy layup by Reid at time makes them so hard to beat!

Btw, I'm not asking Canada to have an elite offense, but just a competitive offense.... If they have a very good ball control (like in the second half last year) with some big play at time, I'll be happy and my concern is that Canada will hold back the steelers like crazy again

I can see both sides, I can also see the reason for keeping Canada (beside the one year left on his contract) in that the O was the youngest in the league, rookie QB, essentially new O line and the O did start to gel and enough improvements as the year went on. My concerns are what many have voiced, wondering if the playbook/coordinator are truly NFL caliber. Canada is the OC, so it is what it is. Different annalists speaking about the shortcomings and level of the plays does not bode confidence, but were the limitations because of the things listed above? The team brought in Glenn Davis as an O asst. so they saw something more was needed, now the only thing to do is see if it works.

With a nickname like Mr Saturday offense he can only go up. Hopefully this season he graduates to Mr Sunday offense.

Speculation is Glenn Thomas was brought in to help with passing concepts. Hopefully he can also introduce hot routes to Canadas game plan.

I think it's kinda funny I was the one saying all this when He was hired, and all I got from most was $hit saying I didn't know what I was talking about. Now I'm pulling for Him, and those same people act like they didn't say all that before, and now hate Him. LoL

Expect less than 7.0 yards per attempt passing.

Don’t remember anyone saying you don’t know what you are talking about, just people having different opinions on a message board.

We’re all pulling for him to do well but makes no sense to pretend he’s has done a good job up to date.

my worry and canada will get the blame one way or another is, too many cooks in the kitchen with KFP. canada of course, mike sullivan, glenn thomas and kenny has a private coach as well. that's 4 people telling you things. at least. MT? he would make 5. there is a good chance it becomes overload. i hope that isn't the case.
