That's similar to my cousin's saying you know we have winter in PA too you know. Yes PA has winter but they don't have an Alberta clipper blowing down from Manitoba with nothing stop it until Kansas. 15 below with an minus 65 windchill is a lot different with no hills of trees to slow it. Winter in North Dakota is not comparable to winter in PA. It's the definition of hell freezing over.

Got that, but even a few miles can make a significant difference. Lake affect snowfall can blow your mind. We lived 40 miles from Erie, drove North in moderate Snow and as we got closer it was a little worse, crossed the 'imaginary line' and the accumlation was nearly double.

I spent one week a month in Minnesota for 5 years so I feel your thoughts

I walked out on a beautifully sunny 25 below day and took a deep breath of fresh air through my nose

    My nostrils froze shut

My car told me to go **** myself

I crunched my way through the snow and went back inside

Now if it’s cold I got to the airport and go to someplace named after a French Saint

Abbreviated conditioning test I would assume. They don't mess around with heat exhaustion anymore. Pretty sure the Junction Boys would be considered crimes against humanity these days.

As much as I gripe about it, it is one of the few places where I can function. Never too hot in the summer, yes a frozen hellscape at times in the winter but all 4 seasons. When I visit Oklahoma I can't go out until the sun is down.

I can put clothes on if it’s cold

If it’s hot there is only so much I can take off until either arrested or laughed at

I really hate summer. The heat, mosquitoes, deer flies, mowing the grass etc. Any day over 70° and I am uncomfortably hot. The Dakota's sound pretty good to me.

I played HS football over 50 years ago and back then it was considered harmful to drink anything during a blistering hot practice or game. They had those tiny little cups that you use to put ketchup in. You were allowed to take one of them along with a salt pill at the beginning of practice and then that had to do you for the next 2-3 hours.
