I gotta do something. LoL.
I really like watching the game live while I shoot the $hit with everyone on here in the game thread.
Like I said before. This will be the 1st time since 1997... I will miss a game.

OK Boys and girls here we go.

I was just listening to a Steeler pod cast and they were talking about how Robinson mainly worked with Flores last year. Austin was mainly working with Bush and Jack during the season and wanted nothing to do with Robinson. At the end of last season, it was Flores who went to Mike Tomlin and put Robinson on the field.

I will not be surprised at all if Robinson does not make the 53-man roster and ends up in Minnesota with Flores.

"And now you know the rest of the story" ..... "Good Day"

The guy started one season at LB at Ole Miss after playing for 2 FCS schools at RB and drafted in the 7th round. He may have freakish athleticism, but the odds of making that jump are rare in the first place. Does he make the 53? Camp will weed it out, the team only has 2 ILB back from last year, Robinson and Chapelle Russell, and now only list 6 on the depth chart (unless someone was signed recently). Keanu Neal did rotate in certain packages in OTA's and mini camp. This position has little camp depth as it is, would not surprise me if he is cut if they only keep 4, or how they see the differences in special teams and packages to either keep or cut. Holcomb is coming off surgery and should be ready, but?????.

So all that to say he has just as much to make the team as not, cutting a 7th round pick (even in his second year) is not unprecedented, and pod casts like this are all over YT (or where ever) and I just want camp to start. lol

You guys are going to shoot me, but I don't know. ESPN used to be my background noise and now it is Youtube when I am on the computer; I start with either Ramon, Moats, or sometimes even Ben's show and then just let Youtube take over and start cycling through the Podcasts. It would have been a recent podcast from the last couple of days, and it had 2 guys speaking about the final 53 man roster. I really want to say it was the Terrible Podcast, but I am not sure. And I know it doesn't mean a thing unless I can post a source.

I was shocked when Austin during the start of the off-season said Robinson was not going to be a starter in 2023, that just didn't seem right as Tomlin's thing is everyone can have a shot at the starting job during training camp and practice. "Iron sharpens Iron" and the whole "Next man up" thing. For Austin to say that no matter how good Robinson looks in training camp, no matter how much he has learned from Brian Flores last year, Robinson will not be a starter in 2023 is just so not the "Standard" in Pittsburgh.

So, I say at the end of preseason, Austin will try to put Robinson back on the practice squad and Brian Flores will come along and scoop him up for Minnesota.

After Ramon's there is 2 Terrible Pod casts 151 and 155, an NFL live show and 2 B-Mac shows with no Numbers. Like I said, I still think it was one of the Terrible Podcasts that I am remembering hearing.

At the very least, it warrants mocking and for all of us to ignore the content of the post as irrelevant.

Austin has input, but he isn't the one making those decisions.

How dare you say you heard something on a TV football show, an interview with a player while at Buffalo Wild Wings reading the closed caption, a youtube video, a random local radio sports talk show while riding in an area out of town, a random podcast, a random interview with a guest during a random sports programming show while having a beer and sitting in your underwear, while being kidnapped by aliens and you heard them talking about Tomlin while they were probing you, etc......Without getting a source!....a link!.....Some solid proof. If not.....then it didn't happen! The information can't be true! How dare you even mention anything as earth-shattering as that without proof?!!

    :roflmao:

The things people get riled up about. I believe you heard it. It happens all the time that we hear or have heard comments that we can't list a source for. It doesn't mean you can't say what you heard at a message board. If people don't want to believe what you said....so what?

Last time I checked, we weren't investigating a murder or looking for spies trying to take down the country based on anything that was said here. I completely understand if you don't want to waste 46 hours of your life scouring media for something that you may never find to satisfy people on this forum. Last time I checked, nobody was required to take a polygraph test, put their hand on a bible, or write a term paper with at least 25 sources before submitting acceptable content on a message board.

Thanks for reporting what you heard.

Having a source linked in your post helps to give the response some context which allows for the in-depth discussion that Brice is looking for to happen. Brice very famously went 150mph into a wall about Larry O and the Steelers never giving him a physical before inking his contract and to his credit was still going pedal to the metal well after he was five feet deep in the wall. So members tend to ask for a link when he says things.

However all that being said you can have a link and one that is reputable and still have the story be complete BS. The Harrison turning down more money to sign with the Bengals story by Bouchette years ago is a prime example. He reported that Harrison was offered a deal that was bigger than the one he took in Cincinnati and fans, being fans just roasted him over. The problem being the story was in many ways made up. The overall package offered by the Steelers was more than the deal he signed with Cincinnati but was heavily slanted towards incentives and preformanced based bonuses. Cincinnati offered money up front with no conditions. Fans clung to Bouchette's bs story and argued that even so he would have gotten more until its pointed out money in hand trumps promised money you don't control so unless he got a million for showing up at camp, another million for putting his pants on in the morning and two million for eating breakfast in the cafeteria it was never going to beat cash handed to him the moment he finished signing the contract.

The meat of this whole story is that Brice wants to discuss a three way power struggle between Tomlin, Austin and the now departed Flores in an effort to further the idea of Tomlin running a clownshow and the Rooney's or specifically Art Rooney II destroying the Steelers legacy. This is a nothing burger and at this point is not relevant to the 2023 Steelers.

I understand what you are saying. My whole point is that you can read a linked article and it is complete crap and misinformation...just as you say.

I just don't like when every comment someone makes merits an interrogation about a source. There are things said here all the time that are heard or seen somewhere. It's not possible to run down everything you've heard or seen on ESPN that was said by a special guest, or on a talk show. I understand that some people do get a track record of bad information if they are constantly making claims, but the whole anal exam over a simple statement that was heard just seems silly. That's all. I'm new here and don't really have a history with almost anybody. I take everyone at their word until shown that I can't.

It also takes away from casual conversation about anything football related if you have to generate a link for every word uttered by someone in the endless forms of media these days.

Do you get what I'm trying to say?
