Did Tomlin's SB win come with Cowher's team?

I know Tomlin drafted Woodley and Timmions but it appears that Mike only won using Cowher's team. I'm strating to believe that Tomlin is the problem; his lack of discipline and inability to correct mistakes that his players make every week. I know the players are the ones not executing but when do you say its a coaching problem. As much as I hate too I say now.

I like Tomlin but I don't think he is a good head coach

Yes it came from Cowhers team. Tomlin is the most laid back, inept coach i've ever seen.

I used to think that was off base but he is looking more like Barry Switzer and George Seifert as time goes on.

    Question for the Tomlin-only-won-with-Cowhers-players crowd.

If winning with Cowher's players is so easy, howz come Bill Cowher didn't win more with Cowher's players?

You guys are an absolute joke! This team is riddled with injuries but that doesn't matter. I guess every player on the team should be "starter" material. And BTW, Tomlin doesn't draft the players, I believe that responsibility belongs to Kevin Colbert.

Cowher would not have put up with mistakes from some of these young guys.

He would have some veterans start over these guys.

cowher was great to rebuild the team at his image , he always felt short because was too stubborn , when got ben he won immedieately and then left a great charachter team with a young ben to tomlin , that went to two superbowl self managing , now that some of that players are on decline tomlin is going down with the ship . total useless
where is the fire on these players they look depressed like me , teams on fire are others
now the question is how long will these embarassement will be go on?

Laid back? Did you never see Tony Dungy on the sidelines?

Cowher has one of the all time winning %...... Both are still human.....this is Ben's team..We won't know what we have with Tomlin till Ben is retired.

Tomlin has rode the coat tails long enough. He is inept at making adjustments and clock management as well as fails to discipline the team. Cowhers teams played hard and mostly he was lacking an elite QB to win the big games. Year 1 with Ben goes 15-1 and falls short. Year 2 super bowl with Ben. I believe Cowher's decline and departure from the team really had to do with his wife getting cancer. Understandable in anyones situation.

People will knock Cowher for only the 1 super bowl win in 15 years or w/e the time frame but you all know you enjoyed him as coach and he had his guys ready to play. The 4th quarter record of like 110-1 when leading by 10 pts or more in the 4th quarter was crazy. Especially since Cowher Steelers struggled to put up points.

Someone who is pro Tomlin please list out some of Tomlins stengths besides being a good speaker to the media and looking cool on the side lines?

Were we riddle with injuries when we played the Titans and Raiders? And yes every player on the team is held to the standard per Tomlin. Oh wait he also said we were going to unlesh Hel in December a few years ago, again not this Decemeber. He is clueless on how to motivate and game plan for a team maybe someone should let him know he is in control and has authority over Defense and Offense. I think I recalled Dallas had a few linebackers out, Dez had a broken finger, and a couple of thier were DB's out.

Plus after 15 years they had tuned Cowher out. He was here long enough. Just like Andy Reid (Eagles) and Jeff Fisher (Titans)

    See my post above.
Short answer, he was missing the final piece in having a dominant team. Elite QB (Ben)

Bellicheck doesn't win with Brady every year. 2004 Ben as a rookie went 15-1 and I think (memory is hazy) won the first playoff game?
2006 was rough, but I believe that was the year his wife got cancer and he was ready to call it quits.

Again woulda coulda shoulda, I dont really care. My point is Mike Tomlin is not a good coach. I believe its obvious, I can go into points about the seasons Mike Tomlin has been here and debate what he has done good and what he has done bad. I think his bad out weighs the few. If you are a MT supporter can you highlight some things that would bring me into Tomlins camp?

2004 - No rookie QB has ever taken a team to the Super Bowl
2006 - Ben just face planted into a Buick then had an emergency appendectomy to start the season

I honestly believe Tomlin's demeanor is a direct descendant of Dungy's. He is from that coaching tree ya know.
