Polamalu is the obvious choice, although AB would have been in the discussion if he wouldn't have been a all-time jerk at the end, but if you have to make a top 3 or top 5, what would your list be?

    From the list:

    1. TP43
    2. Hines Ward
    3. Cam Heyward
    4. TJ Watt
    5. James Harrison

Bus would be my other non-QB offensive guy.

We are in agreement regarding this.

ABs character isn't to be condoned. Within that same vein, his performance cannot be faulted.

timmons was a monster in his prime. he did things to make potsy as good as he was. they were one of our best duo's ever.

    in perspective:

farrior excluding his seasons with the jets and only his 10 as a steeler:

    1085 tackles
    8 interceptions
    53 passes defended
    12 forced fumbles
    10 fumbles recovered
    1 TD
    30 sacks

timmons his 10 years in pittsburgh not including his season with the dolfish. don't forget he played very little as a rookie either.

    983 tackles
    12 interceptions
    43 passes defended
    13 forced fumbles
    7 fumbles recovered
    1 TD
    35.5 sacks

the thing that made these two stand out is most of their careers, they played the whole season without missing time for injuries. hated to see these two guys go.

ILB has been an issue since Timmons left. Maybe if Shazier….
That said, I don’t consider him a top10 player since 2000. I don’t put Farrior on that list either. Good players just not Top10 players.

Just on the defensive side of the ball I would list Watt, Harrison, Cam, Troy, Minkah, Ike, Haden, da Beard, ASmith, Clark, and BigSnack just off the top of my head.

    Listing ILBs only though?

    Timmons
    Farrior
    Gildon
    V. Williams
    Shazier

Kirkland just missed because of 2000’s criteria.

If given one only choice and only one choice....Troy Polamalu.

Just the total package. Skill, athleticism, big game player, made a clutch play when you needed it most, a great teammate, and a better human being.

Total package.... you won't ever see another one of him ever.

You guys are correct. Joey Porter definitely goes in ahead of Vince Williams.

Agreed....I had Him on My list , but I thought at least one Offensive player should be on there....so H. Ward took His spot on My list.

Farrior and Kendrell Bell in '02 were damn good, when Bell wasn't hurt.

I thought Bell would around for a long time. He was really good when he was healthy
