I was going to comment that I don't remember any missed FGs at the end of the game, that cost the Steelers the win last year.

Kenny had all those 4th QTR comebacks late in the year, so how many of those did Boswell contribute too? Answer none.

4 times the Steelers with Kenny Pickett scored late in the game for the win, and all 4 times it was a TD to win the game.

What I have a hard time understanding is how the NFL can't find 32 guys who can punt a football real good. You don't have to tackle. (most the time) Play about 2 minute total a game. There are say 1 billion available men who could kick a ball. Has to be 32 amazing ones. Hell, I bet soccer players could boot the hell out of a football.

 

I was going to argue Boz won the game with the extra point but none of 4 games were decided by 1 point

 

Probably the same reason my theory of going to eastern bloc countries and turning the top 5 heavy weight wrestlers into offensive linemen hasn’t caught on

i'm not sure why they don't bring in better competition for the kicking game. the punter (mann) they brought in is fine but the kid from clemson (bt potter) shouldn't be the only guy they try out. he isn't that accurate, though has a fairly strong leg. that's fine but if he kicks it 30 rows up into the stands or through the uprights and only 8 rows deep would be better. accuracy is pretty fundamental in the kicking game. boz is not bad but has had a decline for 2 years straight. at least percentage wise. when a kickeer leads your team in scoring every year, shouldn't that be a high priority?

 

There is one generational punter available, Matt Araiza. I know he had some terrible allegations against him but the police investigation proved that he left the party hours before the alleged rape took place and all charges were dropped against him. This kid would be a perennial All-Pro if given the chance.

 

When you think about it, it's actually surprising they can't find 32 WOMEN who can punt a football real good. Obviously men are likely to be better but there's always those few exceptions. Yet they still can't find 32 people that can do it at an amazing level.

I don't know if there are any women on this board but if there are, I'm not trying to insult you. To the contrary, I'm suggesting there's got to be some biological women who could punt in the NFL. But if you're still offended, I think that's adorable.

Not overly impressive. Stats don’t show distance of the attempt however.

 

75% accuracy in college isn't real good. Maybe he has a real strong leg and the coaching staff thinks that can improve his technique. Either way I don't think Bos has too much to worry about.

Long snappers are a lot more important than people give them credit for. Hell, Pittsburgh's 2022 first win came down to two parts; a bad snap by the Bengals LS and an excellent block by Minkah. Minkah did make that play but that snap by the LS was pretty bad.
