Madden Cover

I got Madden 22 when it was on sale for like $10 on one of the PSN sales.

PS5 version. Pretty decent graphics (but not spectacular for PS5) compared to the last version I played (Can't remember but Adrian Peterson was on the cover if that tells you). But otherwise it was a cut and paste, repackage of the last Madden I played. Including the playbooks. Sure, there was some more plays. But the bread and butter plays were the same.

Then, recently, Madden 23 was discounted 80%. I'd heard it was much improved over 22, so I fell for it. And in truth, it WAS much better than 22. Graphics were actually good, not just better than a last gen, 5,6,7(?) years ago version. Gameplay was a bit better. Players actually felt like they had weight. A LOT of gang tackling, and slowing runners down even if you didn't make the tackle so teammates could make a stop. And NO CHRIS COLLINSWORTH!!!! So, yeah. Best $20 I ever spent on a Madden game. Who knows when I'll buy another one, but you can bet it will be on sale. LOL

But funny story about the past year's version:

I'm playing Franchise Mode (all I ever really play). As happens, the commentary starts to get repetitive after a while. They can only use so many comments and discussions over the course of a full season and multiple seasons. I'm in year 8 of my Franchise. Keep that in mind. Year EIGHT. 7 full seasons, and halfway through the 8th. I call a pass play, call 2 hot routes that normally would result at least in an easy 1st down. But the defense was onto my tendencies and my quick 1st and 2nd reads were no good. So I'm waiting for someone to get open and not paying attention. And I (Kenny Pickett) get sacked and fumble. Defense recovers. And I kid you not! I heard new commentary I never heard before (not exact quote, but pretty much what they said):

"You know, fans are always wondering why we worry about things like hand size. Well, that right there is why. You have to worry about your QB fumbling."

Those MFers put that line in the game for if Kenny ever fumbled! In game, it was his 8th season and 1st fumble ever. But they had to immediately blame his hands.
