i find it funny how they tried to make a dog their mascot or face of the team. not all dogs are brown. they could have been the malted balls or turds< which not all are brown either. or maybe they could have tried the water in their rivers but that's more fire colored. there are so many things that are brown that they could have tried and still might. the muddy waters maybe. or they could all dress up like paul brown. then that brings the bengirls into it. why the dawg pound? couldn't it just be a dog house? many dogs are killed that are at the pound. kind of fitting for this team i guess. sad but true. i could go on but i tire of this. :smiley1::cool:

is that the fans in the dawg pound or just the dogs? both seem fitting. :smiley1::cool:

They kind of remind Me of Auburn with the multiple names/mascots. Auburn= tigers/war eagles/hawks, or something..LoL....Browns= Dogs/color/elf, or whatever that thing is. Pick something and stick with it. GEEZZZZ!

I met Hines Ward at a meet and greet. I also saw Jerome Bettis going into 3 Rivers Stadium once.

    I screamed "BUS, BUS"

Sure I remember Bo Orlando. He was a great safety in college for WVU during those powerful Major Harris led teams. He had a decent NFL career playing 9 years before retiring.

I forgot about Charlie Batch and Cliff Stoudt both are excellent speakers and funny they were at trade meetings

Sid Bream was at one of the meetings as a speaker first he told us to boo him for Atlanta so we did then we cheered him for the Pirates

Sid used to hunt my property with my neighbors

know and have met quit a few pro players. dwight stone. we used to go to dinner with stoney after games. he used to take us into the locker room after games as well and met guys. my dad had his mom and sister to his house and fed them before he took them to the game. it was the first time they had seen him play. he went to his wedding and they still exchange christmas presents to this day.

carnell lake we met through stoney but we also ran into carnell after a game with his girlfriend at eat n park. there was a bunch of us at a table and it was pretty empty that night. i had my black and gold brigade shirt on and carnell came over to us and started talking about it. he sat down with us and shot the bull for about 20 minutes with us. after that he would come out of the players entrance after games and always come over and talk to us. he is a really down to earth good guy.

i'm friends with shawn vincent. he played one year for the steelers. his claim to fame was intercepting warren moon twice in one game. i know he and his wife really well.

joey gallaway i know and see from time to time.

tim spencer i went to school with and was a team mate of. talk to him from time to time. he played for the chargers. he was the ohio state RB's coach for years. he's still 4th all-time in rushing for ohio state. he then went with lovie smith to become the chicago bears RB's coach, then followed lovie to tampa bay and stayed there even after lovie was fired. he got a ring being there. good guy.

lance mehl. been a friend of him for years. we coached little league together and our sons went to school and played football together. i run into him quite regularly still. he played for the jets during the NY sack exchange days. he was a great MLB. penn state guy.

ike taylor we met and always talked to after games because of shawn and dwight. my parents run into ike down in orlando quite a bit. they ran into him in a bar one night down there and he bought them all drinks and hung out during the night with them. the next day ike and his family sat next to them in church. another good guy.

bobby lyons i used to work with him in the summer while he was in college. his mom was the secretary at the company then. he was a DB for the browns.

tunch we used to talk to after games all the time. he was just a regular guy. very nice. we used to tease him about his old suburban he used to drive. all the other players when the got signed usually bought a new car and would park down at the player entrance. not tunch, he saved his money and drove this old suburban. always a chuckle.

chuck noll. met him a few times before and after games. he would sign autographs until everyone that wanted one had one. super nice guy.

franco harris. met him several times around pittsburgh. at the theater i turned and ran right into him. very nice guy. all these guys were just regular guys.

we used to stand outside and talk after games with a lot of them and laugh at bubby when he would come out in dark glasses with a couple of so called body guards and hurry into a limo he would have waiting, like anybody wanted to get his autograph anyway. the guys would tell us, yea he's kind of an ass.

quite a few more during my life as well. many during a basketball game held at the local HS where the faculty played the steelers basketball team for charity.

met barry foster a couple of times and we still laugh about my wife getting an autograph from him on her sweatshirt after one game. he asked where do you want me to sign it and she said you can sign it anywhere you want. then she panicked because my step mom heard that and knew she would say something. it's still a funny moment we laugh about.

i've met a ton of these guys over the years.

Yancey Thigpen - Had women approaching him as he sat on a bar stool, offering their front) and then turning around and offering their rears, to grab. He was just sitting there enjoying it, they came in waves.

Bryan Hinkle - Near the end of his career, had a beer with him. Good guy.

Darren Perry - Hung with on edge of dance floor.

Franco Harris. Sat a row in front of him. Great guy, super friendly, looked like he could still pad up. Big guy still. We high fived after good Steeler plays.

Sid Bream was the only former pro athlete that I knew personally. His daughter and my daughter were good friends in middle school and would spend the night at each other's house. My wife and his wife Michelle were good friends back then and he coached our girls basketball team.
