Haggans had his best year during the 2005 Superbowl year with 9 sacks. He was a very unsung player that helped us win the one for the thumb that year.

Just heard about 15 min ago, so sad. I just finished watching the replay of Super Bowl XL on NFL Network earlier and then I hear this. He was a part of some great defenses but was an even greater person off the field. 46 years old, what a shame. Praying for his wife and two kids that he leaves behind.

Terrible news. I remember being bummed that he was taking over as our starter, because I thought he wasn't good enough to carry on the legacy. He was no superstar, but in the end I really, really liked him. He delivered.

Not only did he get that opening drive sack in Super Bowl 40, as mentioned above, he also drew a key hold in the 4th quarter, negating a big gain down to our 1 yard line. After that hold, Big Snack got a big sack, and Ike Taylor an INT, and ARE a bomb to Ward. The game was ours from there. Clark's jump on Locklear started that run and ended Seattle's momentum, and I always thought he didn't get enough credit for it. We would have been down by 3, and instead we went up by 11.

Seattle claims the hold was ticky-tack, and that Haggans was offside, but I don't believe either. He just had a killer first step. He started moving before everyone else, but didn't enter the neutral zone. I remember viewing it frame by frame and needing to take the angle of the camera into account, because it was so close.

    Play is at 1:30:20

This dude is largely responsible for our 5th Super Bowl win. What a shame. RIP.

Terrible news. One of those Steeler players who got on with the job with little ceremony but a whole lot of effort and heart.

Wow… Rest in Peace, Clark. This is a shock.

Clark is the perfect example of the steady, heady, quality type of player that championship teams need to have in their lineup. As a fan I always appreciated how Clark did his job consistently well. He was a really good football player.

I got vaccinated and gained a super power where I don't give a sh!t what anyone else does with their body. Weird how that worked.

I've been hammered relentlessly on the vaccines therefore I did not bring it up but some questions should be answered about why very healthy relatively young people are dropping like flies at an incredibly alarming rate. At that age it's more than likely that it was suicide, Fentynal or the vaccine since there have been no reports of cause of death yet. I'll see myself out of this thread now as I know what to expect on the upcoming comments.

    RIP Clark Haggans. Sad indeed.

    Sad news.

PS. I got all the vaccines and boosters including the latest Omni booster.
Ended up getting the Omni variant even though I was fully vaxed.

    Does anyone really know?
