Especially if Porter Jr is a stud. What a fleece by Khan.

Bears not happy with Claypool. Someone tell them to just play some music at practice.

Was so wrong on this guy. Talent wise I think he has it but just not a hard worker at all. I don’t think the lightbulb is going to go on for him because he reacts badly to this sort of criticism.

I still think he could be an impact player in the league. I just don't see it happening with the Bears. He's very talented but his work ethic is questionable.

    he will be nothing

    NO THING

he will be remembered as a BUST. Some here hated the idea last year, of the trade. I have no idea why. he was not an impact player, he was not a difference maker. a waste of a big body. too soft, for his stature.

other than that, I have no opinion on Claypool.

He could complete the ex-Steeler WR trifecta with Raiders though it wouldn't be a direct lineage like the first 2.

Me and you both @Blast Furnace on the eval... me and you both. By far one of my worst evals I have ever made. It did teach me a valuable and much needed lesson though in terms of further appreciating consistency within combat catches and how often they happen within game after game.

Fair enough regarding Joey Porter Jr panning out or not. I get that Pittsburghs track record of developing CB has severely diminished since the retirement of Ike Taylor. That said, I believe Joey Porter Jr has a much better chance due to the support system the Steelers have now than they did with Artie Burns Jr.

It also helps he did learn from not just a former NFL All Pro but a Steelers Legend no less. Again, even learning from such people doesn't beget guaranteed success (see Devin Bush Jr) but it does make that player more aware of how to prepare and compete at the NFL Level than others. With continously improvement, I look for Joey Porter Jr to take off in a big way.

    Another with Ben, and without.
Claypool with Ben two years = 121 catches, 1733 yards, 13 tds.
Claypool without Ben = 46 catches , 456 yards, and 1 td. Tell Me again Qbs don't make 97%(not all) of Wrs.

Claypool had a promising rookie year, but faded after that and was a non factor. The trade with the Bears will go down as one of Steelers best if JPJ becomes a legit #1 or #2 corner.

Claypool regressed in his second season with Ben. This is about Claypool being lazy and not putting in the work.

Okay. Quarterbacks don't make 97 percent of all wide receivers. You pulled that number out of the wrong end of your anatomy and it smells like it.

Claypool's decline began before Roethlisberger retired, not after. No matter how many examples are put in front of you that refute your point, you just keep moving the goal posts to try to make the ball go through.

I wonder if I can shove any more metaphors into this post. Hey! That's one more!

Ben was good until his elbow injury. Should have retired at that point even with that crazy Covid start. If Pickett is 3/4 as good as Ben was I’d be ecstatic.

    Ok...Another.
Mike Wallace....63 games with Steelers (Ben)...4042 yards, and 32 TDs.
Mike Wallace....81 games with everyone else....4030 yards...25 Tds. Tell Me again.....LoL 18 less games with Ben , but still more yards, and more tds. Yeah Qbs don't make Wrs 97% of the times. LoL

Mike Wallace went over 1,000 yards in a season with statue of average Joe Flacco throwing him the ball, so even your weak argument based on a one-player sample size failed.

I'm certain the rest of the board is thrilled you started this argument again. I must admit that I'm slightly amused that you did it so badly.

No way. Ben had a tremendous amount of physical talent. Bradshaw played on some of the greatest teams ever assembled. His first two super bowls and early part of his career he was a game manager. To be fair this is from my father and watching or reading about the games as I wasn’t born quite yet. I know you saw both first hand as well as the sinking of the Titanic.

Even if JPJ turns out to be no more than a solid journeyman, it was a great trade for the Steelers. I think we can all agree that we were fooled into believing Claypool was going to be the next great Steer wide receiver. Damn shame. He has the physical tools, but he has never learned that there is a helluva more to being a pro that getting a hat.

Bradshaw had tremendous physical talent, too. He had size, strength, athleticism, and one of the best arms in the league. Also, Roethlisberger was a game-manager during the early part of his career, too.
