Bell was a 3 time pro bowl...... only 3 of those 17 players had a pro bowl their entire career.

Again you're talking about a team performance. I'm talking about individual players.

I'm sure he would want to go be a starter and non rotational. But with him coming off two seasons of injuries, no team should be looking at him for that. He needs to do a prove it year as a rotational.

I generally agree. But i just don't see a team giving him more than a two year 10 million.

A team looking at him as starter is asking for a greater chance of an injury. And that's a heel position you don't want to see go down.

By the way..... chase young is great at run defense. Something we badly got destroyed on last year.

Oh My, I just watched Moats and Deke talk about Chase Young and all the possible situations for an hour and they didn't mention Nick Herbig at all!!!

Nick Herbig is a guy I can't wait to see in pads to see what he can do in the NFL.

If he refuses to play the other team is not making the trade

    It’s as simple as that

If the gray cells are there most of our run problems were up the middle (Bush) and he is a DE

Not sure how many guys would actually refuse to play in a contract year. Bell was an exception and it was on a second franchise tag. Not to mention it didn't end up working out for him. Young is in his 4th year, 2 of which he was hurt in. If he refuses to play anywhere he likely ends up out of the NFL. I doubt he is that dumb.

Injury is certainly possible, but there are a lot of rusher needy teams that have bad starters. You cant tell me there are 32 teams that have 2 guys that are definitely better than Young. I'm sure there are at least a dozen teams he would immediately start on even if its at the #2. Someone would take a shot on him staying healthy and returning to form. He doesn't have the incentive to concede that the rest of his career is as a back up. If he gets traded, its as a one year rental in all likelihood. It would be cool if it was us, but it wouldn't make the most sense for him.

Washington would be dumb to trade him before the season. If a high end pass rusher on a good team goes down in pre-season, then he immediately becomes pretty valuable.

All he has to do is just say no

No team will trade anything for a player who does not want to be there

Why are you going on and on about a third round pick? All this talk about a trade for Young is a moot point right now, that would be a lot of money tied up in the OLB position.

That's part of the problem you can't help the club, if you're always in the tub .

Who knows at this point how they will use him, rotational for sure, but inside as well?? When talking about Robinson, the coach said he is not ready to start. I think that's just an honest assessment, not a put down, but just stating he is a work in progress, I think the same can be said for Nate...though more experienced, I think he can benefit in spot rotation situations on the inside. I actually have not been this excited for camp to start in a while, new faces, young guys and Omar possibly still making calls.

And to say he is likely out of the NFL is just silly. If he refuses to show up to a team, Washington can pay him or cut him, if he is cut he will have plenty of calls.

I don't get the Chase for a 3rd round pick talk. They have to eat at least $5 million if they trade him as his contract is 100% guaranteed

Chase's comp value is probably worth a 3rd round pick, so if Washington does absolutely nothing but let him play out his contract this season and he walks out the door there is probably a very good chance they get a 3rd round comp pick for him anyway.

Something tells me Washington is thinking a 1st round pick for Chase. Baltimore received a 1st round pick from Kansas City when they traded Orlando Brown on his last year of his rookie contract.

Orlando Brown had played in all 16 games each of his three seasons, starting all 16 the final two, before that trade. Chase Young played in 12 games combined the last two seasons. The situations are not the same.

The comp pick value for Chase depends largely on what he gets for a free agent contract from another team. If he ends up leaving in 2024 for a small 1 year “prove it” deal, the comp pick will be far less than a 3rd. His healthy and performance this season is crucial for his next deal and for the comp pick that Washington would receive.

Its amazing how those evaluations are considered by teams now. Comp picks at first were an after thought and non-tradeable, now with they are looked at (even when not guaranteed) as something in value when making these type of decisions. IDK how much credence is given, but wasn't is a couple of years ago a FA signed by the steelers was sucking up the joint, and if cut by a certain date would not count against the comp formula for the next draft?
