Welp, that would have been awesome. That guy has made some very average QB’s put up much better numbers than they should have.

Translation: The Jets don’t want Aaron Rodgers and/or their fans thinking they missed out on the offensive tackle they so desperately need because the Patriots screwed them, so this is how they cover their asses. They just had so much motivation to lie here that I don’t know why anybody would buy there story.

That they bothered to tell this fairytale is more evidence that they were going to take Jones.

Yeah, surprised Kozora fell for it. They had someone on tape supposedly saying their draft order and Jones wasn't their top guy. I call BS because they didn't immediately jump to their top guy when Jones was picked. They sounded resigned to someone jumping them for Jones and looked the part when it was announced.

I've never seen a team release any video or talk about their actual board from their draft room.

I do recall he once gave Edward Norton a nasty cut.

Safe bet that he signs onto a contender.

I guess the Cardinals are having a fire sale? I wonder if Isaiah Simmons is next.

It’s true. They had McDonlad and Mayer ranked higher. I also had believed the Pats screwed them over, turns out they just tried to.

This also shows that these guys are prepared for every thing, he knew how this would play out. if he was having second thoughts about whether to take Jones or not, he was pretty unmoved by it when he was selected.

They ended up getting Tippman in rd two. Looks like the draft unfolded pretty well for the Jets.

I'll never understand why they had McDonald ranked that high. Whatever.

So they pushed down the guy they predicted would be gone. Okay.

At worst, the Steelers misjudged the stupidity of the Jets.

You’re not the only one’s surprised by the Jets ranking of him.

we’ll see how that plays out for them.

It really isn't relevant for the Jets, except they want to make it look like the Patriots didn't get one over on them. That said, if they knew the Steelers were going to trade up to get Jones and they didn't want to pay the price to keep that from happening, that's a heck of an effective way to cover it up.

The Washington clip shows that the Jets were higher on McDonald than other people were. Washington seemed surprised by that pick, were afraid they were going to take Forbes.

Jets had both McDonald and Mayer ranked higher than Jones. I’m sure NE was hoping to screw them but that’s not how it played out.

This I agree with. They all see things differently. Trying to say one team screwed another is at best just a guess, or wishful thinking.

    A) we got the guy we wanted, we got our fourth rounder back, albeit a few spots lower than we were. It's all good.
    B) Belicheck definitely tried to screw over the Jets. He wouldn't trade with Washington at 16 for a fourth but he traded with the Steelers at 17 for a fourth. And you can't say it was because Washington would take their guy, because Washington still picked before them.

The clip shows them listing them that way knowing Jones is likely to be gone when they pick. That affects how teams look at players, too.

That said, their thinking could get their prize offseason acquisition broken in half.

Yup. Maybe the Jets really would have been foolish enough to pass on the tackle they need, but he perception that Jones was a great fit for them helped the Steelers move up to get him for a relatively low cost. There is also a chance that if the Steelers don't move up, some other team moves ahead of them to take Jones, the last of the top tackles.

Given how well the whole draft went for them, I've got no problem at all with what the Steelers did in that draft, including the trades.
