See the snare sounds fine here. I think the other one was either tuned funny, or was a crappy one.

What a great album. IMO this is the best tune from it.

Perhaps it was tuned to sound like a marching band type snare sound, which is what they were going for in the song?

And perhaps you dont like that sound because you had a bad experience, or even a fight with a marching band drummer when you were in high school. And you just decided you hate snares that do that particular sound because of it....

I met them on the original tour of this album. They opened for Metallica and the Justice tour. I also have this album signed by them when I met them. I wore this out.

I remember seeing these guys live as an opener for either Iron Maiden or Judas Priest back in the mid 80’s. This is an iconic guitar riff.

I never seen them live, but I do remember listening to them in junior high. I also believe they had some songs on a few movies at the time.

I remember as a kid, my aunt who was a teenager at the time used to play a lot of progressive rock. I’d be at my grandparents’ house during days when I wasn’t in school, and I’d listen to her records. This song made a huge impression on me back then. The key guitar riff is simple, but so impactful in the context of the song. Such a good instrumental.
