Not sure what this totally means. But I guess perhaps the Steelers could get a game there someday.

I’m predicting a game in Mexico in 2025 when Mexico’s Aztec stadium is done with renovations

Ireland will probably show up as well possibly as early as 2026 vs Jacksonville who also has rights there

I would consider going to both

    If I can get tickets

I read where the last game in Germany had 300,000 ticket requests

I could see a game in Mexico as well. Unsure about Ireland. Perhaps a preseason game there.

I would've liked to jump on-board the German/Austria train though. Tons more $$$ to be made there. I understand the sentimental value with Ireland and existing fanbase in Ireland, but football is just growing in the Germanic speaking realm. Which explains that 300k ticket requests for games the games there.

The Rams getting Chinese rights could be profitable for them considering the amount of eyes there.

Game is growing very quickly over here and in Europe, you see more and more merchandise in the sports shops, it’s mainly Raiders, Patriots and 49ers stuff at the moment so presumably Steelers gear will be sold now as well

The steelers played a preseason game in Dublin about 15 years ago iirc. There is a state of the art 80k stadium there and I expect it’d sell out for a full NFL game. They already host college games there

The guy who sits next to me at home games was born in Italy and played for the Rhein Fire as a safety then he moved to Canada

So naturally he is a Steelers fan

I think Ireland is a great fit for the Steelers, now I can wear green Steelers logo shirts on St. Patrick's Day. And on a trivia tidbit, the dominance in the recent list of US Presidents with Irish ancestry.

This excites me. Easy for me to get to Ireland, just a 30 minute flight from Manchester to Dublin. Although I imagine they'd want to invest in Croke park a little bit before it hosted an NFL game as the facilities are pretty outdated.

Croke Park doesn't have the shine and futuristic design features of some of the newer stadiums in the NFL but it is in excellent condition and is very well maintained. I don’t see why it couldn’t hold an NFL game with the right planning, albeit there may be criteria I don’t know about.

It may be a while before we could get a game there in any case, if ever, but like yourself I’d love to see it and would definitely go.

Team with the most international partnerships is Kansas City; not surprising given the NFL's desire to expand to new markets at light speed.

Still happy that the Steelers are one of a handful of teams to receive three (though the NFL's asterisk of Northern Ireland technically can make this two).

Press conference today hinting at an NFL game in Ireland within five years, that would be great from my POV

Well of course… I mean, when I think of Austria, the KC Chiefs pop right into the front of my mind…

And let’s not forget the Ghana Eagles.

I heard that on a talk show, Germany might actually be hotter than England when all is said and done. If you get that ticket in Ireland make sure you ask for the Rooney pub special, a couple of pints before and after the game is always a splendid experience.

    I’d even go to Germany

I haven’t been there since invading other countries went out of fashion

Hell its been 43 years for me, but being stationed in Frankfurt for 2.5 years was nice. Loved getting out of the city and just tipping a few in the small town gasthauses. Once you get a few in you and are not a jerk the host folks would generally warm up.

I’m necro posting a bit here but I was thinking of future travel plans

If I have it right teams only go international when they have 9 home games so that way they are not taking one of the normal 8 away from the local market

The Steelers have 9 this year and I’m thinking this repeats every other year

Therefore the Steelers in Ireland would seem to be headed for 2025 or 2027

There is a new hotel apparently being constructed next to Croke Park (capacity 82,300) set to open 2026

Yes dude, this would be a huge thing for me. The cost and distance to Ireland is great for me. I have friends that live in Dublin and its literally like 40 mind flight from my nearest airport. I would be in dreamland to get to see Steelers live for the first time. Of course I could one day come over to Pittsburgh but money is tight for that at the moment.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will not play an international game in the 2024 season, the NFL announced on Thursday.

The four teams that will serve as the home games were announced on Thursday. The league will have games in London, England and Munich, Germany in 2024. The Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars will host games in London and the Carolina Panthers will host the game in Munich.
