Hopefully CAIII can stay on the field for the 2023 Season this time around! Hoping for the best regarding him! Same goes for DeMarvin Leal as well.

Still need to get to Training Camp to at least get somewhat of an idea as to where Leal will play. Tomlin stated during the Post Draft Conference that Leal's position is still not fully set in stone. With any luck, there will be more clarity come Training Camp.

I can't wait to see Kenny finally getting a camp throwing the ball to DJ. All last year Kenny never got to practice with the 1st team unit during the offseason.

DJ can Start and Stop with the best of them. Damn he looks quick; going from 0 to flat out in a heart beat.

In addition to Leal and CAIII, really looking forward to the Slot CB battle along with the many, many battles for spots at IDL. For Isaiahh Loudermilk man... this is likely it for him as the FO is not the same one that drafted him. Rooting for him of course but Armon Watts and Johnathan Marshall are not going to make it easy for him.

Also would like to see what Mark Robinson has been working on since his explosive rookie debut. Cannot wait to see him take the next step.

The big thing for me is how the players spoke of Pickett's leadership. It seems like these guys will run through a wall for Pickett. It kinda seems like this offense is going take a step forward, just based on mantra alone.

DJ looks like he is going to have a good year.
But, it's not the routes or speed he needs to improve, it's the actual catching.

I think with a full offseason of practices with Kenny, Pat and Pickens, we should not be disappointed with the results.

My favorite; I like the way Harris showed up. He looks great and has way more bounce in his step than last year.
I'd really like to see a great season for him.

Gotta say, Kenny looks to have had a good offseason. Nice touch throws and looks like he's got more zip on those tight throws.

    Steelers Work Play Action
During the routes portion of the session today, the team began to work some rhythm-based routes. That includes play action, and Miles Boykin confirmed that the team did run some of those rhythm-based ideas with an early emphasis on play action. Why? Boykin believes it’s all tied to Pickett.

“It can be huge (play action),” Boykin said. “Anytime you have a quarterback like Kenny that is mobile and can move and do different things, it gives the defense an aspect they have to think about. The more things you throw at a defense, the more liable they are to make some of those mistakes.”

Play action makes sense for the Steelers this season as a way to create chunk plays in the passing game. They failed to do a lot of that last year, but the team could begin really crack things open in that regard. Why? With a strong rushing attack, play action makes sense to work off that. In fact, it could work and vice versa, too. If Pittsburgh does not have the running game going, the play-action game could open that up. Pickett’s comfortability in year two has taken another leap, and play action could be part of the offense taking that leap with him

I hope it will be the case when the real game will start!

Was just coming to say that Butler needs to work with DJ. His footwork is among the best and why he gets open so easy.

Jeh: “Now if he could only catch.” Saved you the time ;)

    I’ve been saving this

The only reason DJ gets open is because nobody respects his ability to score and they play soft prevent defense on him

    There I got that out

‘More Critical This Year:’ George Pickens Says Steelers Have Emphasized Winning On First Down In 2023

    https://steelersdepot.com/2023/05/m...n-2023/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Better late that never...It was a major problem for the steelers in the last few years....Too often they were on 3rd down,so their margin of error was way too small...I hope they will have some improvement at this category since to be last in 2021 and 30th in 2022 on first down is just awful!

I don't see DJ hitting his goals, too many other options on offense.

Funny I remember the good old Days with Ben on 2nd and 2; he would always be throwing for the rafters.
