i wanted purdy from his Jr. year. he didn't have the greatest stats but the kid could win games. i think the niners got a good one. won't set the league on fire but he will keep them good. we are solid and i believe any QB we throw on the field can get us a win. i don't want them having to play any long stretches though. a game or two if needed they should be able to run the show.

Right, now they know their rolls and can settle in as an active member of the team with specific job duties and not trying to compete with eachother and feeling salty. The QB room helps Kenny prepare in practice and diagnose what is happening on the field to discuss on sidelines AFTER we score TD’s. They are a unit. Now a very good one. I think it could be one of the best in the NFL if they all buy in.

I’m sure he’s doing the best he can

Don’t see why we need a sequel. I didn’t think “Dutch Diggers” one was that great.

I admit it is driving me freaking crazy every time I see Brock Purdy ranked ahead of Kenny Picket in all kinds of media QB Rankings.

Purdy just does not have the talent to be a real NFL staring QB. Purdy will be a one-hit wonder never to be seen again. I can't wait for Week 1 for the Steelers and Kenny Picket to show the league what a farce Brock Purdy is. I think Purdy has as much NFL talent as Duck Hodges had here in Pittsburgh.

Purdy is better than you are giving him credit for being in that post. I don't think he is a superstar, but he is a very good quarterback and that offense seems to be a perfect fit for him. This assumes that his elbow is healthy enough for him to get back to his level from before the injury last season.

You must live in the heart of Amish country like me. The Amish were named after Jakob Ammann from Switzerland. When they first came to America they told people that they spoke "Deutsch" meaning German. People mistakenly thought that they were saying "Dutch" instead of "Deutsch" and they are still called "Dutch" today a couple of hundred years later.

At 6.5 million a year. I'm fine with that. He is the closest style to pickett.

There's other QB vets I would have liked better, but Mitch is closest to Pickett style.

Who would you prefer as a backup? I looked over the list on the preceding page, and, not counting the new draftees, I came up with Andy Dalton (who is basically at retirement age), Taylor Heinicke and Jacoby Brissett. All of those guys are “maybes” for me vs. Trubisky. Mitch isn’t a long-term starter, but he’s a solid backup.

Given the price, I would have rather had Brissett, but Trubisky had the advantage of already being under contract for 2023.

I was wanting someone that was more of a vet like Foles, Ryan. But they don't have the similar style to pickett that mitch has. So I'm honestly fine with mitch and now better with knowing the contract numbers.

Foles is older, less durable, and he hasn't really looked like a decent option for a few years.

    Ryan is toast.

There was a time that both were great options, but that time is past.

Yeah 100% Ryan is burnt toast. But he can teach. Foles I would not want playing, but teaching is better than mitch. Those were what I was looking for in a vet QB.

That is the job of the quarterback coach. I want a backup who can actually play if you need him.
