Really? Look at other rosters and tell me which #2 QBs you find that are better than Mitch, and which #3 QBs are better than Mason. You’re not going to find many in either category. Mitch may be a subpar starter, but he’s a solid backup. I was very against Rudolph being our 2022 starter, but he’s probably one of the best #3 QBs in the league.

Mitch isn’t a good starter and if he has to play because of injury he won’t be good playing as a backup either! I get the point though most teams are screwed if the starting QB is injured.

Didn't Trubisky have a 13 win season with the Bears? Gone are the days when a team will have a backup like Steve Young on the 49ers.

Last season Miami had to start Skylar Thompson in the playoffs, the Titans played an overmatched Malik Willis, and the 49ers played Josh Johnson. I will take the Steelers QB situation over those teams anyday.

The Steelers can at least tread water with Trubisky and Rudolph for a few weeks. The Bengals aren't treading water with Trevor Simian and Jake Browning. Blaine Gabbert can come in and play well for a quarter or two but the Chiefs are in big trouble if Mahomes is out for 6 weeks. And good luck to the Bills trying to keep their machine running with Kyle Allen or Matt Barkley under center.

So they signed two players that didn't want to play for the steelers and told Khan to f-off, and then when the other 31 teams didn't want these two, they came back begging Khan to join a "qb-room" that they didn't/don't want to be part of? And you're picky on the choice of words?? :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Ok, so they're not hostages, they're just total losers that didn't want to be with the steelers, but then realized they suck so much ass no other teams wants them, so then they came back to the steelers.... wooooo.... that sounds soooo much better than calling them hostages! I stand corrected! They are soooooo much more motivated that hostages that we can't possibly have a losing season.

    :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

the other teams have a chance at winning the SB. They don’t care about treading water.

Steelers have a chance to tread water to a non-losing season. Steelers don’t seem to care about winning SBs

This whole nobody wanted either of them is just fantasy. You , Me , or anybody else on here really don't know what they were offered elsewhere.

The point was if Burrow, Mahomes or Allen are out for an extended period then their teams are done for the year because their backup QB's are worse than ours.

Oh, you mean the guy going into the second year of his rookie contract? The guy who would more than likely be starting this year if he were healthy enough? The guy no one took a flier on until the very last pick and then he put the league on notice? Yeah, that one makes sense.

Name a third-string quarterback in the NFL right now who is better than Rudolph. I'm certainly not a fan of the guy, but I do not understand all the complaining about him being No. 3.

There are a few backup quarterbacks better than Trubisky, but not many. I thought he played better as a backup than he did as a starter last season. He played well off the bench in the victory over the Bucs. He was solid filling in for Pickett against the Panthers. His interceptions were killers in the loss to the Ravens, but he also made quite a few big plays to keep the Steelers in the game.

Yea I’d take him over Mitch. Heineke or Marriotta also. Zappe as well.

Maybe, but he's not even a viable option and the ones that are, aren't any better than what the Steelers already have

Purdy isn't a backup any longer. He is the 49ers' starter if he is healthy.

Heinecke and Trubisky are comparable. Mariotta has trouble staying healthy and avoiding turnovers. I do like Zappe, but even if you take all three of those guys, that's still a very short list of backups who are better than Trubisky.

Clearly they were not wanted enough to be offered enough for them to leave.

    I know.

We are pretty much guaranteed to have a non losing season because of our great back up QBs. Those other teams have shots at winning a SB, but if their QB is injured for an extended period of time, they may end up with a losing season.
