While we are at it, let's give Quincy Roche a fair opportunity to start over T.J. Watt.

Are you Speaking from experience ;)

Years ago when state lotteries were just getting going the PA lottery got big and a whole bunch of people working at some company pitched in money and they won

Apparently a lot of them quit their job and some of them were complete assholes about it

Then they found out when it was divided out and taxes were taken out they each were getting like $12,000 a year

I owned a company and Once when it was a really big lottery my employees were all pitching in

I asked if I could get in and one employee said but you own your own company

I told him if they all won I would no longer have a company

Perhaps I'm just so bored I am over thinking, but nothing has been discussed about the timing of MR and Mitch contracts. They might be unrelated and just business, but this got me thinking a bit (dangerous). Things like contract talks are not usually done on a whim, but could MR being resigned have been a back up plan in Mitch balked at the extension? I have not seen numbers yet, but the extension of Mitch gets most if not all of that 8 million off the books this year, imagining the talks were already in progress, signing MR might have been a sign to Mitch to get this done, or they move in a different direction.

I think people are overthinking this. It's good to have 3 legit QBs on the roster.... and let's spare the Trubisky and Rudolph jokes. Ask the 49ers about the QB situation.

LOL. well yea I thought of that before I overthought. The comments our season is screwed if KP goes down, likely true, but we also saw the results a few years ago when Ben went down and we had essentially a rookie (MR) and a true rook for back ups. They both had a horrible line, injuries galore and the team still went 8-8. I'm not delusional about either BU QB's, but this team as a whole is far better than the talent they had back then. In the short term either of these guys can keep the team afloat, and really thats all you are looking for, someone to navigate and not lose the game, and hopefully the team as a whole can navigate to get a win.

This is good news. There is a high probability that your backup QB has to play a few games, and a good chance that you have to go to your #3 at some point as well. You don’t want to be the team facing in to December playing a rookie scrub like they did with Duck a few years ago.

Mitch and Mason are good backups to have and the money sounds reasonable. Good job by the front office IMO

Yeah it appears that Trubisky sees himself as a back up the rest of his career. The starting job last year was his shot to stay a starter and it didn't go as he hoped. He's a quality back up and Mitch is just the insurance policy until we get someone we like better in that role. Can't complain too much. Everyone has worried about our back up situation for a while and at least we have a good one under contract for a few years.

You have to be In it to Win it.

It is the Job of the backup QB to fill in a couple times, and get you into the Playoffs. But, please don't ask Mitch or Mason to beat Mahomes or Burrow in the AFC Championship game to get you into the Super Bowl!

Correct, it is Pickett's job to win the AFC Championship game to get us to the Super Bowl.

This was just my comment on all the bad comments about how Mitch and Mason can't get us to the Super Bowl. Mitch and Mason just need to hold it together if Kenny goes down to still win enough games to make the Playoffs. Not expected to go head to head with Mahomes and Burrow to put us in the Super Bowl.

He puts an earpiece in, holds a clipboard and gets paid $8m. Yep I'm taking that job no problem. If they want to pay me $5m next year, yep I'm taking that job too. Hell you want to pay me $2m the year after that, yep I'm taking that job!! Easy money with no pressure, zero!!

Because they're both veteran QBs who have won games in the NFL, I doubt you will find a better #3 QB than Rudolph in the league.

Cliff Stout had a pension before he ever threw a pass

He had a clipboard and a ball cap

I’m not even sure he had a helmet

But isn’t that part of the problem? Can you find a better number 3? We all know how bad Trubs and Mason suck so don’t try? Just regurgitate the same crap over and over

Backup QB spots are important. KP will likely be hurt at some point and at least miss a couple games because of a concussion or something.

Your right. The cap hit would have been 10,625 Mill he would only see 8 Mill.
