    Once Ben was available yeah

    Thats the point

He didn’t want a tackle instead of Ben he wanted a tackle if Ben or one of the other two weren’t available

Maybe Ben wasn’t his first choice of the 3 QBs but he expected all 3 to be gone

you gotta remember.. Maddox was Cowher's guy too, which is why he loved Shawn Andrews.

A lot of people liked Rivers despite his sidearm throws and him being a shorter QB.. I think if you asked Bill with truth serum, he liked Phillip more than Ben too..

Just glad Rooney pulled the trigger to a falling Ben at the time

Yup, took Ben after his boss steered him that way. Dans words. Unless he is lying.

Wasn’t Cowhers choice anyway, that would be Colbert the GM. At least thats what I am told when Tomlin makes a pick.

You are using half the facts and twisting them

This is like having a discussion with Brice and KidAnalyst at the same time

This is the first podcast that I have ever listened to all the way through. I split it up into three days while doing so. It was very enjoyable and very informative but what I took away from it the most was Big Ben seems very natural in this environment and not scripted at all. I'm sure being in his own house has a bunch to do with that and he would be more handcuffed had it been in some corporate studio somewhere. The Troy Polamalu segment was downright hilarious. I'll try and watch more of these. Maybe I can break it down to watching them fully in just 2 days.:hmm:

This would fit Jerry Jones and the Jones Family far more than Dan Rooney and the Rooney Family though.

I've always thought that had Ben worked harder in the off season and during the season we would have won another Super Bowl. He just didnt seem to have the same work ethic as Peyton or Brady. Peyton and Brady after every series seemed to be looking at the printouts on what they saw where Ben would be on the sideline with his hat turned backward. Just the impression I always was left with. We got 2 with him and the last one no doubt because of him on that last drive. Always felt he was like Shaq a little, where Kobe wanted him to work on his free-throws and come into camp in shape but Shaq had other ideas.

Work Harder? Ben's style of play was different than Brady and Manning.. Guy took hits week after week.. He had some of his worst hits vs Baltimore's defense.. and he just got up and rallied us for a win despite taking hit after hit.. buying enough time for a WR to break free downfield and he would hit them on the nose.

Which is why I think coaching is more to blame than Ben himself with not winning another ring. Again I had a hard on for cowher, i wanted him gone after the 2001 season.. ESPECIALLY after that 2002 opener vs the raiders. I thought the roster had been stacked and he would do well in the regular season but deliver a huge egg in the playoffs, again.

However looking back at it.. I think his stubbornness along with Ben's would have resulted in another SB win...probably 2, had he stayed. Eventually he would let Ben take over because obviously he was THE guy, but I do think he wouldn't had let his sacks rate keep going the direction it was that final season he was there.

I know he got sacked a lot as a rookie, but the 2005 season it did go down..(because cowher was stubborn on running 60% of the time til late in that season). that 2006 season... i try to put it away, think that was after the motorcycle accident.. but from there on..yikes

This is impossible to be a top 5 caliber QB in the NFL for almost15 years(2004-2018) and be too lazy at the same time.....

You Guys kill Me with this....most of You always compare with Peyton Manning hard work.....Yet their SB wins, and playoffs are almost identical....., and I remember a 2nd year player going into Peytons house , and looking way better than Peyton.....and not even counting the tackle.
