I believe they signed Roche back to a contract?

From all reports since it’s all been about the med concern. Supposedly any other reports I’ve read and heard, and there have been plenty, it’s been said his character was not a concern or even great character, so that doesn’t seem to be it.

Look, pundits and analysts and talking heads sure aren’t coaching staffs, but many of them do quite a bit of digging and lots of them are also pretty good at evaluating this stuff, especially with top rated players. Maybe they can be off a bit, sure. But LOTS if not most or all had him ranked as a top of round 1 through the 2nd. Nobody I read except on this board had him ranked near pick 90. So, connecting all the dots it seems pretty darn clear that the medical concern explains his slide more than anything else.

A few people here (and just a few) didn’t rank him that low. I feel fine siding with he vast majority of the NFL universe that it was knee stuff only. Kahn didn’t make an aggressive move or play any with the trade to get someone else and then him. He landed in their lap, and they said as much but differently in the presser.

Now, if they don’t attempt to use him as a receiving threat too much, I’ll also criticize it now that they have the opportunity to test if he has the receiving ability I think he displays to my eyes. If he does drop balls, can’t get open enough, or gets beat, heck, even can’t learn the playbook, then please, feel free to gloat.

Until the proof is there I’m in wait and see mode. And I promise you, if given chances and he duds in that respect, you will read me saying, yeah, he’s just a blocker. Hopefully a darn good one. If he’s neither, it won’t be the first time I ate crow. There have been LOTS of players I was wrong about after great excitement. Claypool, James Washington being the most recent.

From game one before the 4th quarter against Cincinnati last year, I was saying Jaylen Warren had much more pop with the ball in his hands and liked how he was running through the line hard more than Harris, while wearing my signed Harris Jersey. Most likely his foot though. But, I trust my eyes much more than I don’t. Can’t wait to evaluate…

Roche hasn’t done anything to indicate that we can count on him to provide quality snaps. He’s somewhere between a “maybe” and camp fodder.

Yes. Everybody thinks we’ve identified the next coming of James Harrison with signings of players such as Roche, Jamir Jones, UGIII… At the end of the day, they are just retreads.

I will have to check Steelers roster .Could be others olb on roster.

I'm not saying Washington is just a blocker. What I have said all along is that he hasn't shown much as a receiver and there is no evidence that he can handle a more diverse route tree. Straight-ahead speed is one thing, but he isn't exactly elusive.

Analysts, or whatever term you would like to use, are off on what teams think all the time. Think about Malik Willis last season. Most mock drafts had him going in the first round. He went in the third, and that was a quarterback,. They tend to get more attention. It isn't all that shocking for the analysts to be off on a tight end.

Keep in mind that this was a deep group of tight ends, far more so than most seasons, so it shouldn't be a shock to see one fall. The reports I've seen about medical issues are all speculation. I'll stand by my theory that the teams didn't have him rated as highly as the media did. That doesn't mean he can't be an outstanding player. Some damn good players come out of the third round.

I checked to see the other divisional rivals draft threads. The Bengals had a 9 page thread and the Browns had an 8 page thread. The Ravens had probably a couple hundred pages but their pages have only about 6-7 messages a page, meaning it was probably around 50 pages compared to ours. The Steeler Fans Message board reigns supreme again.

Braden Mann claimed off waivers from the Jets

A couple of weeks or so ago

I actually think PHIII will be ok if not we should get rid of the special teams coach which I’ve said for 3 years now

I’m surprised how good this board is but I’m surprised how lousy others are

I wanted to find something on a Seattle board and it sucked

And some of them could use a hall monitor

    Just saying

Yeah, not sure if he would exactly qualify as a weak link, but almost. Easy to agree with the argument. Any upgrade please…

Why would we want to trade Glemm

He’s a starter with a team friendly contract
