Andy Weidl Says Steelers Will Be Going Back To Their Roots ‘We Are Gonna Break The Will Of Other Teams’

I prefer that than seeing 40-50 passes per game and most of the time it was excessive dink and dunk with around only 6 YPA or under, but if the steelers want that it's a success, the passing game need to have way more big play

That's where the value of Jaylen Warren comes into play, but they really need a third. I thought they should have kept Snell, but so far, that doesn't seem to be the plan.

Yikes, guess they know our strength is Najee and an improved OL... not our 1st rd QB

I do think that the running game will be much improved, will never be sold on Pickett.. my hope is we draft the correct QB next spring

You'll never be sold on Pickett? That's short sighted. I wasn't sold on Watt when we drafted him but I didn't say I'd NEVER be sold on him. Good thing too, because I'm pretty much sold on him now. Give the guy a chance.

The only way we use a high pick on QB next spring is if Pickett really stinks up the place. My hope is we don't spend another high pick on QB till after about 15 years.

Pretty sure this should address @Disco1981's concern about ppl getting sloppy on Omar and not even a courtesy grab on Andy.

Love how they are building the team. You get the sense that this front office really knows what they’re doing and will put together a really good roster over the next couple of years.

I think Master Teague is under contract, he could be in the mix to be #3 RB.

Or they know that a completely functioning run game greatly helps the passing game. Trenches, run effectively, pass efficiently.

I guess the assumption here is that you think you must be right and there is absolutely no chance that Mike Tomlin, Kevin Colbert, and Omar Khan were right about Pickett. I applaud your arrogance if not your judgment.

Either that or Pickett can never do enough to convince you, which conjures up some very amusing thoughts, most of them funny at your expense.

He was resigned after the season. If he can stay healthy Master Teague is a 235 lb battering ram.

Will never be sold on Pickett? What if he helps win us a Super Bowl or two over the next few years? Will you be sold on him then? The Pickett hatred by some who claim to be Steeler fans is unbelievable. If you watched his progress last season and weren’t able to see some of the special qualities that he possesses that could enable him to make the jump to the next level, then you don’t understand the quarterback position very well. I’m not saying he’s a finished product, but he’s got a chance to be a very good quarterback in this league. All in all, he played well as a rookie and continued to improve throughout the season in spite of a sucky OC. We’ve got our quarterback for the next decade plus so you’re going to be very disappointed when several springs go by without drafting your version of the “correct quarterback”.

Thank freaking goodness. We went all pansy on the NFL the past 7+ years and it brought moderate regular season success and abject playoff failures. Beat up on equally pansy teams and get mauled by REAL NFL teams.

The/my Steelers used to be the maulers, not the maulees.

Agreed... though I very much doubt the same level of impact. I would love that to happen but Nick is not the same caliber of athlete nor talent that Micah is.

Regardless... he doesn't have to be that much of a difference maker. If he can fill out a solid role in the hybrid position.. that will do wonders for both TJ and Alex moving forward: the interior Run Defense the same.
