No ****. What does that have to do with them not wasting a pick on a diminutive player this draft?

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m generally supportive of the organization so I’m sure I will be quite happy with their decisions and I’m definitely happy with Khan and Weidl so far.

No one is above reproach though so I will question and criticize them when I see fit and that is a fact you will have to live with.

I mean... if there is one major complaint I have with Omar thus far...

I get that UFDA's are essentially "Lottery Tickets" in a sense but given the rich history the Steelers have... one would think they would spend a bit more to acquire some talent there yes?!

Bryce Ford Wheaton is a major one I'd thought the team would get.

Yeah, when this new assistant was hired, I was wondering if the situation was that they needed to release Canada during the season, that wouldn’t want to switch the playbook and language. This guy has been brought in with enough time to learn it should they need hand out a pink slip.

I really would love for Matt Canada to become reborn again in the offensive game planning and calling religion. I’d hate for this young squad to have to learn something new again.

I don’t want to send droids out looking for Obi-Wan. He’d be our only chance.

... For some objectivity from my earlier post about a major gripe I have with Omar thus far...

Fair point indeed. Still wished the Steelers would give out a bit more though.

To add some validity to this perspective:

Almost a decade ago an old boss of mine had a son named Ali Marpet. You might remember him as an O-lineman who was drafted in the 2nd round by Tampa and played there through the Brady years.

He came from a tiny college most people never heard of, but somehow got invited to the senior bowl and did great there, then invited to the combine and did great there too. But coming from a division 3 school his dad was concerned it would hold him back during draft day. I remember his father telling me that if he wasn’t chosen by the 3rd round, then they’re prefer he go undrafted. He could choose his landing spot and if he made the team he could negotiate for much more than if get got drafted in rounds 4-7.

Never knew that until then, but this tweet speaks on the same subject. The Steelers supposedly never spend the allotted amount (cap) for FA. The rep can hurt them when trying to get the best UDFA’s. Steelers Depot podcast the other day had somewhat of a decent reason that can support the organizations reason why. I’ll try to find it again. I forgot the possible answer.

I think Tomlin's Gold Jacket will fit just fine; with or without Omar's assistance.

That said, AR 2, Omar Kahn, Andy Weidl and Mike Tomlin have placed the team in much better standing for 2023 than a season ago.

Every yr, we worry about certain players pricing themselves out of Pittsburgh with their performance......
I find myself, all of a sudden, worrying about Omar Khan's performance pricing himself out

Hold on a minute here, are you guys trying to tell me that Art Rooney II doesn't care for mediocrity and that the hiring of Khan and Weidl were a good thing? That can't possibly be true. That's not what I've been hearing from some of our esteemed board members around here.

    :hmm:

I fail to see why so many thought that bringing in someone like Andy Weidl would amount to "same old, same old" in terms of what the plan is for the Offseason. Keep both Kahn and Weidl together I'd say! Those two are awesome! :drinks:

The cheap thing was fair, but the coward thing is one of the dumber arguments I've seen on this board.

This was a steal.. moving up 4 spots in the first round.. only giving up a 4th rounder? I read that Belichick did this to spite the Jets who were going to select Jones, knowing Pitt wanted him too.

He better have Big Ben introducing him... or Bill Cowher whenever it's time for him to receive his bust

He is going to be much more aggressive than Colbert was. Part of that business and financial savvy coming in play a bit for Kahn eh?! Who says numbers guys cannot be aggressive?! :lolol:

I can’t remember ever having a draft that excited me as much as this one. I was looking for either Broderick or Porter at 17 and to land both is a dream come true.

Wasn’t done there though, Khan said I want that fourth rd pick back! Oh and I’ll pick up Washington while I’m at it :lolol:

Drafts will be a lot more fun if he continues operating like that.
