I have/had no idea if I ever read any opinions about your perspective of the Ben fiasco from so many years before. Opinions of that are all over the place. I’ve argued for and against him in regards to that because I land somewhere between the extremes.

No, I.. def did not take it personal, we just both felt pretty secure and dug in on our rational with (IMO) reasonable positions on Washington. Maybe some misplaced tone or reading of tone. I didn’t feel there were any ad hominem personal statements, just pointed.

Whateve… I just still feel grounded in that expecting romantic privacy in a public place with all that context not only should not be expected but that it’s rational to have my opinion. Despite petty Steelers nuanced differentiating positions, I think in any case I can recall that you express rational opinions. So, yeah, I asked for added dialog with the statement of “really?” I was the one who was laughably label a prude. :roflmao:  :drinks:

I still don't see a problem with it. They both were drunk. It's not like one was sober, and slipped the other something so she would be out. If You say one was a Guy, and one was a woman. Well then You don't truly believe in equal rights....just when it suits You. Now if He forced Her forsure....He should never have played ball again, and should have went to prison. Otherwise....I'm missing something. You can't have sex in anyway with someone, and then afterwards decide it was a bad idea, and then try to charge someone with it. If so .....I know about 15 women I would like to press charges on.

My apologies to others for the ongoing tangent, but I do think this deserves a response.

He orchestrated the entire thing with the help of his crew, including a 300-pound lineman (Willie Colon), and an off-duty police officer. They got her very drunk, then had his guys bring her to him, lock the door, and make sure her friends couldn't check on her. My understanding is that she was too drunk to give consent. Maybe he was, too, but I'm not sure that was the case.

I read the report the DA's office released years ago. I don't remember every detail, but it was ugly. I was surprised they didn't try to charge him with wrongful imprisonment given that she couldn't remember enough of what happened to charge him with rape.

I could, but won’t, for everyone’s sake go over or deeper into this here because it’s becoming completely unrelated to the Steelers and now some sociological discussion.

However…. that last line was gold in the scheme of your statement. Effing gold!

I'll see if I can find the full report that was released online at the time. So far, I'm only seeing media reports about it. The results of the actual police investigation were damning for both Roethlisberger and the police officer who was the first to interview the accuser, who went fanboy and compromised the entire investigation. He ended up resigning.

I was wrong about one thing. Roethlisberger didn't just have one off-duty officer in his entourage. He had two. One was a state trooper. The other was a local officer from Coraopolis.

Claypool looked good during his rookie season, too. That wasn't a matter of a guy who could only do things out of full pads.

There was a clip on YouTube with an obvious click bait title to lure Steeler Nation into watching that I shut off after a minute or so because they took rookie minicamp and made several hurdles in their thinking and speculating. Namely that Jones is the starter at LT based on a 3 day camp. Yes he maybe the opening day starter at LT forcing an OL reshuffling but let's not jump to conclusions based on a rookie mini camp. How many rookievor undrafted LT's were at camp this weekend? Jones is a 1st rd pick, I'd expect that the depth chart looked like Jones 1, 2 and 3.
