Very intriguing though. Dude has strong legs, looks like he can shake off low tackles after the catch. Not quite a burner though

Said it in another thread but this cat has all the physical tools and talent but an attitude problem is essentially why he ended up in the XFL. Might have been a humbling experience for him and if he gets out of his own head, he might be a helluva pick up.

I liked him coming out of college, he was a total bust in the NFL.

Well, unless I'm incorrect, he's actually only played 2 games in the NFL. He missed his entire rookie season due to a broken hand. As a 4th rounder he was released after one year, which is bizarre. He only made the practice squad with the Panthers before eventually signing with the Eagles. Then that went to sh!t. Something kept this guy off the field and it sounds like much of that was his attitude. I really don't think he's ever shown what he's capable of as a reciever. Hopefully the Steelers see it. Maybe they don't

If I remember this guy correctly from his draft year, he had some sort of ridiculously bad drop percentage… like 15-20%.

I live in St. Louis and watched nearly every Battlehawks game. Butler is a competitor. Seems to have great hands and can attack the ball in a way Claypool never could. Long arms and physical. Not a speed burner but good route runner. Almost more of a TE type but can win one on one due to size and body control. Probably my favorite Battlehawk this year other than AJ McCarron who tore it up all year.

McCarron wasn't a terrible backup in the NFL. He should tear up the weak competition in that league. Butler didn't look all that fast in the highlights I saw, but he did seem to correct some of the flaws he showed earlier in his career.

Yes. AJ can read defenses and is actually pretty damn accurate as a passer. Butler no doubt benefited, but showed his ability to get open and make tough catches, especially in big moments. I believe Butler led the league in TDs and was 2nd in total yards if I remember correctly.

That's probably what the Panthers were thinking as well when they supposedly moved him to tight end.

Come on man, I get you were just taking a jab at him but let's not act like these guys aren't still some serious athletes. I get that you think Butler won't succeed but these aren't just a bunch of dudes with dad bods tossing the football around. Not sure I understand the vitriol towards a guy just trying to make a team.

Tommy Maddox was just such a Guy....Yet He still was better than any Qb We had on the team when We brought Him in. Give the Guy a chance. It won't hurt anything.
