The other teams offense....if our D can't stop the passing game. Other than that....We should be able to run Handley against most teams.

Grew up with Big G! Love him.

The new American versions of him are great imo. Much better than that bastardized 1998 Sony Phony thing.. :puking2:

Well... we have upgraded our IDL a great degree overall so the interior rush should be much better this time around. I do wonder if Nick Herbig can become the overdue EDGE 3 but time will tell for him. He does possess a rock solid foundation to work off of to improve upon. Just will be about hitting that weight room a bit more.

I think he is a big huge target, I think the most damage he will do is in running blocking, and also when inside the 20's in the red zone.

He's big but he's not exactly fast by long shot wouldn't expect lot of YAC out him.

He ran 4.64 at the combine, which was 6 of 13 te's that ran. So, average speed, but once they get him working out and lifting, I could see him going 275+. That's a load to bring down for a 200 DB.

Watching game tape highlights, he looked to be damaging between the hashes and into the end zone as a receiver, his run blocking into the perimeter looks good. He is very highly regarded, think he's a steal in round 3.
The knee thing can be worrysome but we have depth there, let the knee get good and then see what he can bring.

2023 NFL Draft grades for AFC: Steelers did the best, while three playoff teams fall in C-range
Story by Charles McDonald • 1h ago

    Overall Grade: A+

The Steelers had the best draft in the NFL. It can credibly be said that they acquired four starter-level players with their first four picks. Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones, Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and Wisconsin defensive tackle Keeanu Benton all have the potential to be long-term starters. Darnell Washington gives the Steelers a young thunder-and-lighting type of tight end duo as they pair him with Pat Freiermuth. Even getting someone like Purdue cornerback Cory Trice in the seventh round was great value given his pre-draft profile — he has the potential to actually stick on the roster. The Steelers didn’t overthink it, plugged a lot of needs with quality talent and found value in the seventh round as well. It’s impossible to hate what they did over the draft weekend.

Favorite Pick: Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia (93rd overall)

Darnell Washington was projected by some as a first-round pick, but fell all the way to pick 93 where the Steelers were able to nab him. At the very least, Washington can be a dominant blocker for the Steelers’ offense. If he can improve his receiving ability and hit his ceiling in that facet of the game, this will be an absolute steal. Washington crushed the NFL combine, running a blistering 4.08 20-yard short shuttle despite being 6-7 and 264 pounds. If Washington’s injury history doesn’t come back to bite him, he’ll be a huge plus for the Steelers.

You talking about killing? Hmm? Y'all experts? Y'all know about killing? I'd like to hear about it, potheads.

Are you smoking this sh*t so's to escape from reality? Me, I don't need this sh*t. I am reality. There's the way it ought to be, and there's the way it is. Elias was full of sh*t. Elias was a crusader. Now, I got no fight... with any man who does what he's told. But when he don't, the machine breaks down. And when the machine breaks down, we break down. And I ain't gonna allow that... in any of you. Not one.

Y'all love Elias. Oh, you wanna kick ass. Yeah. Well, here I am, all by my lonesome. And there ain't nobody gonna know. Six of you boys against me. Kill me. Huh. I sh*t on all of you.

Arguably the best scene from "Platoon". Berenger was terrific in that movie. So was Willem Dafoe.

Dang that was pretty word for word. Dafoe has played other great characters, but I believe that was Berengers finest.

The scene when Charlie Sheen gets injured towards the beginning of the film. This is from memory. Guys at work used to ask me to do it, lol:

"I want you all to a good look at this lump of sh!t. And remember what it looks like! Out here assholes, you keep your sh!t wired tight at all times. You f&*# up out here and I can Goddamn guarantee you a trip out of the bush....in a body bag. And that goes for you, too sh!t for brains. You don't f&%$in' sleep on no ambush. And the next sumb!tch I catch coppin' z's in the bush, I'm personally gonna take an interest in seeing them suffer. I sh!t you not. Bag him and tag him, Doc!"

If Pickett is only throwing around 25 times a game, I'd rather watch paint dry.

I have no desire to go back in time. I want 21st century football, not 20th century. Hell, I can remember wanting Bradshaw to throw the ball 30 times a game in the 70's.

Maybe Canada hasn't seen Washington catching...I hope that is the case

How Darnell Washington Fits in With the Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada spoke with the press on April 28, moments after Omar Khan and assistant general manager Andy Weidl picked Darnell Washington at No. 93. He intimated that Washington won’t be utilized as much for his pass-catching abilities as for his advanced blocking prowess. But don’t be surprised if he pulls off some George Pickens-type highlights in 2023.

we did that last year to a high level. we had the longest drives in the NFL last year on a pretty consistent basis. that was with a couple of drive killing offensive linemen creating penalties that stopped a few others.

i believe the upgrade on the o-line with better smarter players will continue that trend and adding a good blocking TE to that just improves it even more.

the 3rd RB will be important as well. we don't know who that will be but we don't want to run the legs off of our main two. i'm hoping teague can take that role. we should be able to punish defenses and tire them out. the whole passing game should and could be built off this run game.

TOP should be in our favor every game, keeping their QB's off the field and our defense fresh. if they can make this happen we will have a good season.

There was one year and one year only that I saw (I think 2008) where once the offense hit the 45-45 yard line on our side of the field I KNEW they were going to go for a deep chunk strike and so often it was a completion. Then in that drive or any other if we got to the redzone between the 10-20 yard line I knew a play was drawn up and Heath was often the first target.

I’d really like to see that again. It was so exciting.
