AJ McCarron tore up the XFL for our St. Louis Battlehawks. Threw for 420 yds and 6 TDs in the final game. He could be an option. Only made $60,000 playing in the XFL.

The Steelers clearly don't think very much of him, and now the feeling seems to be mutual.

I don't hate the Guy. I said When they brought Him in as a starter He wasn't very good, and everyone thought I hated Him, or wanted Him to fail. Furthest thing from the truth. I have never ever rooted against a Steelers player. Just because I was right about Him not being a legit starter doesn't mean I hate Him, would root against Him as a Steeler, or don't think He could be a viable backup....as long as He come to terms that's all He is....a backup......He is welcome. I'd just like our backup not to be the 15th highest Qb cap hit in the NFL....that's all.
Some silly Nancy boys(not You) think just because I was right about him.....I want Him to fail. Totally wrong.....now if He was on another team.....Yes I would , but not while He's wearing the Black, and Gold. Hell I wanted Cam Smith at CB all offseason, but now....He can kick rocks for all I care.

Trubisky played a major role in the losses to the Jets and Ravens. Steelers win those games and they are in the playoffs. I still believe Trubisky is an adequate #2 QB... more so than Rudolph. Trubisky will be better this year than last... if he has to play. Let's hope he doesn't have to play, though.

You can't say that. Rudolph is not on the roster because his contract ended.

Right now he is on the open market trying to get a better deal, simple as that.

This year the Steelers offer should be 3rd string QB money. (AKA Vet league minimum)

The QB (among others) walked out on AB's XFL team, so there's an opening for Mason..... He might not get a paycheck, but he'll at least get some field time

I can absolutely say all of it. They were so determined to keep him away from the starting job a year ago that they kept Haskins, signed Trubisky, and drafted Pickett. The only reason he got a helmet all season was when Pickett missed time.

He made it clear he was not happy with how the team treated him.

Oddly enough because it was the game that finally got him benched, I don't think he was all that bad against the Jets. Remember, Johnson cost him a touchdown because he got lazy with his footwork at the back of the end zone. That was a beautiful throw by Trubisky and one the receiver should be able to catch and get his feet in bounds.

AJ was just named MVP of the league. He's legit. Many NFL teams are bringing XFL players in for camps. I'm just saying he might be worth a look on the cheap. He's proven he can still play at a high level.

    Was he

    Hmmm

That sent a message to Mason if he thought the Steelers was his back up plan as opposed to unemployment
