It's a logjam because all those guys are under contract..... They're not all gonna make the team out of camp and preseason.... Let's get some draft capital for one or 2 of them instead of cutting someone for nothing

    WR1: DJ
    WR2: Pickens
    WR3: A-Rob (1yr/ $5mill) or Austin (4 yr/ $4mill)
    PR/KR: Gunner (1yr / $2.6mill)
    S/T: Boykin (1yr/ $1mill)

Not sure we get much, if anything, for Miller(1yr/$1mill) or White (1yr /$800k).

I think Gunner-stone-hands will get traded if Austin can stay healthy and contribute as a PR/KR.

    Johnson, Pickens, Robinson,gunner,Austin, White

Two solid guys, a third if he can stay healthy, gunner, and 2 unknown commodities. That’s not a logjam

Im trying to think if there is something that happened, that you just mentioned (drinking, going to a strip club, racing thru streets/roadways early in the am), that I wouldn't attribute to a lot of 22 yr olds? Or that would surprise me as what a 22 yr old would do? Why is it then being described as a massive character flaw?? I haven't read that he was drunk, cited for being drunk, or convicted of being drunk (i wouldnt mind if you posted a link). He didn't force anything on anyone that happened that night. It was just an unfortunate set of circumstances that ultimately happened as a consequence of all their actions...not just his. The worst thing he did that night besides racing was lie to the cops about the racing...once again something a lot of 22 yr olds do which is lie. He clearly has some lead foot issues, but I wouldn't regard that as character flaws and can be easily corrected.

I think it's a valid concern about the individuals judgement or decision making because a team is about to pay the 22 year old millions of dollars.

It's a lil bit of a concern. Hes got speeding tickets bro ...its not a big concern. Weren't not talking about a repeat sex offender, drug/alcohol addict, or someone with a violent past. You're gonna pass up on a future potential Aaron Donaldson because of some speeding tickets??

You don't know if they would be alive or not...maybe somebody else attempts to race them and they go racing off with them. This is my problem about you putting it on him. If someone goes and jumps off a high bridge into a deep body of water and says follow them ...are you following them?? They don't put a gun to your head, they don't threaten your family's well being if you don't. They just go and jump. You can clearly see the danger involved. If you do follow them and you end up drowning is it your fault that you drowned, or the person who jumped ahead of you??

No matter what happens today, of their original 7 picks, the 2-18 Benton selection will be the only one Pittsburgh actually used.

Yeah, and got three FA’s this year and our LT #1 draft pick + a new large blocking TE.

Seamalu and Herbig are as good as better than the two pick ups from last year.

You do realize that the Steelers didn't pass on Carter, right? Why is any of this relevant? He's in an Eagles uniform now. End of story.

When a team is picking a player to be the future of their organization, then yes it does factor in.

Why are you making excuses? He broke the law, someone died, he lied about it, and suffered the consequences.

I didnt say the Steelers did. This is the problem with jumping in on the middle of a conversation. It's very simple how we got to this point and why it's relevant to the conversation at hand.

No one's making excuses. It's the level of blame that's being attributed to him that's the issue. Anybody with half a brain could see that which is why the courts only hit him with a misdemeanor and some community sevice, and a business smart organization like the Eagles with a on point GM picked him up.

This is the outcome when you have a great GM. This team will be built like Omar ... Smart, Relentless, Fierce, Feared, Magician, Khan artist, Winner!... and yes, I believe that we got a two for one sale with Khan!

Why is it when I'm arguing with someone on here it's a problem, but if someone else is it's cool. Hypocrisy. LoL.
Never once do I jump in ,and say take this elsewhere. Remember this.

It doesn't bother me at all...it's actually the exact opposite if you go back and read the comments. I'm just having a conversation. Is there a problem with that??? I'm trying to.understand where this visceral was at when your young stud qb was being accused of multiple sexual assault allegations and crashing his bike under contract? Where was the talk of character flaws then? It was alright when he did it, but when somebody else do it it's a problem.

    Agreed.

Having Allen Robinson does not mean the beginning of the end for CAIII. Way too early to give up on him and I am also in the minority to believe he can contribute to this Offense. How much so is fair to question but I do believe he can make an impact.

Agree with @Blast Furnace about Omar Kahn overall.

I, like many of us, will always love and appreciate the time and effort spent by Kevin Colbert. For that matter, I will not be shocked when Kevin Colbert and Big Ben both cartwheel into Canton as they both retired at basically the same time (if not the same year then the year after) . I will say though that, for all of his greatness, Kevin Colbert basically operated the drat as if he had a "Bingo Card" of sorts. If one player was gone... Colbert would just continue down and down that list. Granted, this is not all bad but it felt as if Colbert had little to no contingency plans if certain players were not available. Most notably of those was Artie Burns.

Omar Kahn is definitely placing his stamp on this draft. However, the only major pushback I have with Blast's assessment of Kahn is that this is not just a solo act by Kahn alone. Andy Weidl also deserves some major props for assisting Omar and Mike in terms of building the draft board. Reminder that Weidl was a major factor in building the board; Kahn, Sheldon White (Director of Pro Scouting), Dave Petett (Assistant Director of Pro Scouting) and Dan Colbert (Director of College Scouting) the same.

Exactly that. And 100% about Weidl, I addressed that in another thread but as I said in that one, Khan is the one making these trade decisions. Saw that the Jets were likely to take Jones and went and got him.

Not being content with the number of draft picks, traded down and picked up a 4th and still got Washington.

His Chase trade set the table for all of this.

In free agency the man has signed like 16 players.

I just have to wonder how poorly he interviews or are the teams that interviewed his just effing stupid. Oh well, their loss is out gain.

Ah. I didn't see your overall assessment with Weidl or I likely forgetting.

Regarding the Interview... you mean Broderick Jones?! Weird how those "Character Concerns" just popped up days leading to the draft.. though not really as rival agents will use whatever means possible to give their guys a shot at being drafted higher than the competition. With people like Drew Rousenhaus.... any form of informative propaganda is possible.

Tomlin didn't mention anything of the sort in the evaluation of Jones. All he mentioned was when asking fellow Georgia players about a player he should look out for, the unanimous selection was Broderick Jones.

He was interviewed several times, I think one of Watsons issues started with the Texans when he was not chosen as GM, when he was picked here some said why did they not just say so from the beginning and interview so many others. We do not know the ins or outs, when it was announced it was Colberts last year did Art pull Omar aside and just say its yours if you want it, but we have to play the game? We knew he was a wizard with the CAP, but if this guy continues we are in for a very fun ride. He said in one of the 'draft choice' pressers, "I'm here to win super bowls"...I believe he will.

Way to much being read into Robinson coming here (concerning CA3), I remember one of your takes after he was picked, along the lines of he made many grown men look silly on the field. He still is a mystery, but you do not give up on that talent and speed because of an injury. There are many roles on a team, and some of them are just that, role players. If he becomes a returner and 4th WR, and does it well, then that opens a whole can of worms for the opposing team to account for.

Agreed. This is not the Allen Robinson of 5 years ago. He is now an aging veteran, with hopefully a couple more years of good/solid football before the rapid decline. He won't displace any good young WR, but hopefully he will be the vet counted on to get open and make the catch that moves the chains in a key moment in the game. I'd be shocked if he got more than two games of 100+ yards in 2023 (maybe shocked if he gets any 100+ game).
