I have heard good things about safety Christopher Smith from Georgia. An insider from Georgia called him a potential steal of the draft! Another "Dog" might not be a bad thing!

It’s nothing until it’s something. These players have done nothing yet.

I’m right there with you. Was just texting my brother and for the first time I can remember I don’t have any griping to do on any of these picks. I don’t know how to act right now lol

He really did. I know there is a medical concern, but that still seems like a fantastic value and they got him even after trading back.

How about waiting to see if those players become studs before calling it the best draft ever?

How about being happy for actually getting players we like instead of trying to make them all studs off the bat.

    Draft grade: A-

Tall, thick, young ultra-powerful TE. Will be the 6th OL when he's on the field. That good of a blocker. Low-volume receiver in college but flashed bulldozer YAC talent and has an enormous catch radius though there are some drops on film. All-Pro upside. -- Chris Trapasso

The 6-foot-7, 264-pound Washington was the 35th-best player in CBS Sports' prospect rankings

That is true, but for a team that hasn't had an elite corner since Woodson, I think they should have taken the chance. I think o-linemen are easier to come by than elite corners, that being said, Gonzalez may not be that, we will see. But if he is, Khan will be kicking himself for years to come, IMO.

We haven’t had decent OL since Pouncey and DeCastro left. They were first rounders. If Pickett is our future then we have to protect him.

I’m not saying I hate it or anything. He has long strider speed, so I think seam routes seem like a good thing for him. Jump balls too obviously. I don’t think he’s the next Gronk or anything, but I think he can have a shot at making an impact.
I think that’s his best bet. It’s a good skill to have because he will struggle to get out of breaks with separation. He seems to be a guy who can win contested balls, so he should be an immediate red zone threat.

side note, I hope he wears #0

I might be agreeing with you but we took JPJ at 32. With him, Witherspoon, Wallace and Peterson, we're probably good enough for the 23 campaign. I'm not sure if slot corner is really fulfilled yet, but Peterson looks to be filling that role some. Long term, sure I'm not against going out and getting an elite guy but that's probably some future draft. Khan is really proving to be a Jedi with this FA class and now this draft class.

Guys, I think we are winning this draft, but for the Eagles who are probably #1. This is an amazing draft.

For me.... For all we know not a single guy selected the past two days will pan out; HOWEVER, I don't know how anyone wouldn't be thrilled over this class. We got 4 potential starters and any of them potentially can become Pro Bowl/All Pro level type players. Definitely one of the most exciting classes we've had in a long time.

PFF guys talking about Steelers results after pick 49. Pretty dang flattering and I fully agree. Khan, Weidl and co kicking names and taking butt!

at 4:00:54, they find out about the Darnell Washington pick. Same guys loses it again. LOL

Yeah, but we saw with some of those high picks the esteemed Artie Burns (the live draft gurus laughed at that pick, as they should have), Jarvis Jones and a couple of other stinkers. While we may have a stinker, it sure feels like all four draftees are bargains and very shrewd picks, especially compared to the perceived positional weakness of the pre-draft Steelers. This draft is a home run, by far the best I've seen for pick value, in at least a decade or more.

I will say it, I am sooooo glad Colbert is gone. Iffy day 1/2 picks every other year (reaches) and rarely any trade creativity. I don't know if Weidl is behind more of this than Khan. I hope its more Khan because I think Weidl will be gone next year as full time GM with another team. Either way, I hope they pay up to keep Weidl (assuming he is somewhat content to be assistant or co-GM). What a draft. In three years, it might not appear so amazing, but the draft value of every pick is positive, no reaches at all. Very rare through 3 rounds and four picks.

Thanks to all who posted about the new Steelers.

I went around to a few other boards and they seem to think their team had the best draft.

For every NFL fan it's wait and see.
