"Darnell Washington was a standout two-way player at Desert Pines High School and was also on the varsity basketball team, (averaged 11 points and 12 rebounds per game as a junior)."

Are the Steelers actually having a great draft or do we just think so because it seems like it because they keep taking guys we have been talking about? :)

I wanted Battle, especially now that I've seen the Bengals get him two picks later, but Washington is a beautiful fit for the power game they seem to want to run on offense. He also seems like a great value at 93.

Is everybody done whining about the trade now? They got a fourth rounder and still added a great pick in the third. Khan made three trades that affected this draft and they were all winners. I'm counting the acquisition of the pick they used on Porter in exchange for Claypool. They took advantage by adding three potential starters at positions of need and tight end who could make an impact on the offense from day one. Well done!

How could a guy who didn’t play a down for you be a key departure?

Usually teams can draft quality linemen in late rounds. I wouldn’t mind seeing us draft a lineman, Lb, and DB if there is a good one(s) out there.

I was looking at colin holba to see what happened. He bounced around and kept getting cut then just retired. That sucks lol

    Slot sometimes, special teams.

Gentry just signed a one year deal only. I don’t think he’s long for their plans. He’s insurance until these guys carve out their place in the offense.

So far this is a special draft class isn’t it?

At this point it would be nice to get a slot corner like Clark Phillips and then roll the dice on some boom or bust guys in the 7th.

I guess the Steelers (and all the teams) weren’t kidding about Dawand Jones being off their boards.

In what round does someone take a chance on him do you think?

Washington first round talent in the third round. I hope they are wrong about the swollen knees being an ongoing problem. Anyone know anything more about that?

It could be one, but let's see what they actually do. Porter does have some bust potential and there has to be some reason Washington fell that far. I'm actually hesitant to say how much I like what Khan has done with this draft, from the trades to the actual selections. They hit three positions of need and got strong value with all of their picks. Trading down to get a fourth-rounder and still getting Washington was a big win.

I would like to see a slot corner or safety in the fourth round. That would top this off nicely.

He was off his rocker for wanting him at 32!

Thankfully Khan is not a premature ejaculator. Played it perfectly.

Moved back got him and picked up a 4th rd pick.
