Love the pick! Starting LT and CB covered.

Now need to fix the glaring hole in edge and MLB

Porter jr has likely always wanted to play for the Steelers

while I agree with several of you pointing out what happens when one goes down, it still doesn't overwrite the fact we have STARTERS (currently) that are not NFL caliber. We can't afford the LUXURY of a solid/promising/non-stud OLB/rusher that will not see more than 10 snaps a game UNLESS Watt or Highsmith get hurt. That said, if management thinks it can find a good cover CB (or three) or a MLB that can cover a TE post-draft cuts, then by all means, grab that pre-Highsmith leaving OLB in prep for 2024 (or injury), but otherwise OLB takes a backseat.

They swapped 2nds and 3rds and got a 3rd round pick in 2024. Not sure how big of a swap those picks were?

Is it though? I mean they swapped 2nds and 3rds and gained some spots...the only additional pick the Cards got was a 3rd in 2024.

I'd rather have JPJ than a 2024 3rd round pick.

Obviously. If you’re a fan you want every pick and signing to be studs. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that

Looks like the Cardinals got picks 41 and 72 (third-rounder) this year and a third-round pick next year.

Edit: I didn't realize they were giving back a third-rounder this year, too. The Cardinals moved up nine spots in the third round and got a three in 2024. I think the Steelers were better off keeping the pick and taking Porter. There is a good chance that Porter, Smith, and Branch would have been gone by 41.

    Wow, LaPorta over Mayer.

LaPorta was my guy but only because I thought Mayer would be gone in the first.

    Great pick for Detroit though.

    JPJ...recent story

He enjoyed getting reacquainted with Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, who he said he has met countless times over the years. Porter actually played high school football with Tomlin's oldest son. "It was great," Porter said of his meeting with Tomlin during a recent appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show." "I hadn't seen him in a while, obviously because I've been at Penn State taking care of business, same as him. It was a good reunion to see him and some of the staff there. I've been going there since I was a kid. I saw a lot of old faces. I already know the facility. It was a great visit

Makes sense. I don't think the steelers pick was too valuable in hindsight. Everyone knew they were not taking a QB there. So the move was probably cheaper for the 33 pick.

TN titans can officially suck my balls. How in the ever loving f#$% do you move up to pick sorry azz Levis when Hooker is the better QB by any measure and plus he is a VOL? Grrrrr, that blows.
